The Sheriff's Vitriol

Back on December 2, 2010, I wrote a Special Announcement at my johnny2k's Blogging in Our Time2Escape blog. Here is a small portion of that post:

The original intent of this blog was to help people find other great bloggers with their own commentaries and stories to tell. It was meant to be a service for the enjoyment of the visitors to this blog, along with a little promotion for the other authors/bloggers, blogs, and news sites. I had somehow shifted the focus from that mission to spending way too much time on... well, me! MY commentary was taking over. Talking about defeating the entire purpose of this blog!

So, early on Sunday morning, I decided to put a story on that blog that told about what happened in Tucson, Arizona, with the tragic shooting early Saturday afternoon, on January 8. (You'll see more details below.)  I had good intentions, as I was only going to post the story the way I have been doing since that Special Announcement was made. (The new strategy has been very successful, by the way!). But, in the story were some things that disturbed me greatly. The story was on FoxNews.com, but was picked up from the Associated Press. It turned out that not only was the story very poorly edited for accuracy (wrong name of the shooter was given), but there were several things that came out in the story that I felt obligated to include in the blog post.

The glaring incident that caught my attention was that Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, in a press conference, began going off on the "vitriolic political rhetoric" in this country being the cause of the shooting... And, as you will see, it seemed to be an attack on Conservative radio talk show hosts and television political pundits, which I am sure would refer to the Fox News Channel.

In the venue of this blog, which is where the following story should have been posted in the first place (my bad!), I have the freedom to add a little more to spice this up, and to make my very poignant point. And that is just exactly what I am going to do! You see, the Sheriff seems to be inferring that everything is so vitriolic by the way the news is presented by certain news networks. Of course, that is just his ignorance showing through. Sheriff Dupnik seems to be very misinformed! So, before you go on to read the "rest of the story" below, I have a special video of some Fox News Channel segments for you to see. I am sure you will not see any vitriol here! And by the way, you may want to keep a box of tissues nearby. This may tug at your heart-strings. I'm just sayin'...

And now for the story from johnny2k's Blogging in Our Time2Escape:

A terribly tragic shooting occurred early Saturday afternoon that shook the country. It happened in Tucson, Arizona. I was looking for the story, and my google search found this one for me, where FoxNews.com had picked up this Associated Press story.

Before I tell you what I thought of this news article, I do want to pass on my condolences to all of the families that lost a loved one, or that have somebody fighting for life in the hospital. It was a horrible and senseless act of violence.

But here is what really bothered me about this story, and the way it was written. Just for starters, they spelled the name of the alleged shooter both as Jared Laugher and Jared Loughner, and one time they did that in the same paragraph:

The suspect's exact motivation was not clear, but a former classmate described Laugher as a pot-smoking loner who had rambling beliefs about the world. Federal law enforcement officials were poring over versions of a MySpace page that belonged to Jared Loughner and over a YouTube video published weeks ago...

But, if that was not bad enough - clearly the editor dropped the ball on that - the story goes on and on about vitriolic political rhetoric and violence against politicians and lawyers. It was what Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said that seemed so creepy. He was really pushing the vitriol and violence thing, and you know who he was trying to blame from this statement: "When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government." Am I out of line to guess that when he said "out of certain mouths," he was either talking about certain conservative talk radio hosts, or possibly even Sarah Palin? Or maybe he is still upset about Arizona's SB 1070, Gov. Jan Brewer's immigration legislation. Sure, Sheriff, way to spread that vitriol.

So, once again, before all the facts are in, people - or so-called journalists - are trying to blame conservative talk radio for the violent act in Tucson. However, from what we read in this column about the alleged shooter, Jared What-Ever-His-Last-Name-Is, tends to fit the profile of an anarchist:

High school classmate Grant Wiens, 22, said Loughner seemed to be "floating through life" and "doing his own thing."

"Sometimes religion was brought up or drugs. He smoked pot, I don't know how regularly. And he wasn't too keen on religion from what I could tell," Wiens said.

I'll guarantee you that as more facts come out about the gunman, there will be no doubt that he is not a Conservative Right-wing Christian. I'm just sayin'....

Furthermore, from a story on the Christian Science Monitor, we have this:

A possible link between Jared Lee Loughner, the primary suspect in the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and American Renaissance, the publication of an anti-immigration group, offers potential new insights into what may have caused the 22-year-old Arizonan to carry out the attack, which killed six people and wounded more than a dozen outside a Tucson, Ariz. stripmall on Saturday.

The CSMonitor story continues on to say:

American Renaissance is the publication of the The New Century Foundation, described by the Anti-Defamation League as a "self-styled think tank." The ADL, on its website, calls American Renaissance a "white supremacist journal and companion Website" that "promotes pseudoscientific studies that attempt to demonstrate the intellectual and cultural superiority of whites and publishes articles on the supposed decline of American society because of integrationist social policies."

It turns out that my hunches were correct! And we can say, Jared Lee Loughner isn't your typical American, and he's definitely not a Tea-partier, that would turn to violence because of the "vitriolic political rhetoric." 

Therefor, my belief is that Sheriff Clarence Dupnik may just be your typical liberal!

TUCSON, Ariz. – Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot in the head Saturday by a gunman who opened fire outside a grocery store during a meeting with voters, killing a federal judge and five others in a rampage that rattled the country and left Americans questioning whether divisive politics had pushed the suspect over the edge.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said Giffords was the target of a gunman whom he described as mentally unstable and possibly acting along with an accomplice. He said Giffords was among 13 people wounded in the melee that killed six people, including Arizona's chief federal judge, a 9-year-old girl and an aide for the Democratic lawmaker. He said the rampage ended only after two people tackled the gunman.

The sheriff pointed to the vitriolic political rhetoric that has consumed the country as he denounced the shooting that claimed several of his friends as victims, including U.S. District Judge John Roll. The judge celebrated Mass on Saturday morning like he does every day before stopping by to say hello to his good friend Giffords.

"When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous," the sheriff said. "And unfortunately, Arizona I think has become the capital. We have become the mecca for prejudice and bigotry."  [Emphasis my own]

WE Are the MOB: Do You Hear Us Now?

They thought that they knew who we are.

They thought that they could just keep pulling the wool over our eyes.

No wonder. That seems to reflect the general and complacent wool-over-the-eyes attitude of the "sheople," doesn't it? "Why worry, we can't do nothin' 'bout it anyhow."

So, doesn't it make it pretty hard to figure that "10's of thousands" of us folks would be gathering in Washington, D.C. back on September 12th? No, of course, that can't make any difference, right? Is that why it wasn't covered by the "Meanstream Media?"

You see, we could literally show up on the streets of the Capitol, by the millions, and the majority of the people that see 10 minutes of "news" every week actually see.... uh, nothing.



I talked to way too many people that had no idea that the rally/march was even going on this last weekend. Some actually saw a blurb and maybe a picture, but they didn't really even know what it was about. And even the White House made an official statement saying that they weren't aware of the little gathering, as if it was going to be 50 people.

Of course, for those of us that actually follow what's going on, it is so difficult when we have our friends and relatives that are not aware of the uprising. I have people that are close to me that say they can not watch the news because "it is too negative all of the time. It is so depressing. I'll be happy to bury my head in the sand just so that I don't have to deal with it."

I can understand their frustration, after being bombarded with non-stop news about O.J., Britney, or Michael Jackson. As long as they are watching the MSM news, that's all they're going to get. It's the kind of news that sells.

Well, at least that is what they (the MSM) are still thinking. And that will be the one strategic blunder that brings down the progressives. They forgot about us. They forgot that many of us have the ability to write, or do what ever we can with our God-given abilities, and that know we can make a difference. Let me just give you a great example of what people on our side can do:



Anyone that doesn't know just how powerful that segment was is just not following along. There are many of us that get it. There are many of us that just want to be the Paul Revere type of people. We want you to figure it out now, rather than later.

There will be many of us that are going to be loud and clear.

You will hear plenty about what is going on, if you'll just take a minute or two to listen.

Silent no more. We are the MOB! Can you hear us now?

My 2008 Story of the Year - They Make 'em Good in Iowa!

There could have been many stories that would make it to the top of the list for TOP NEWS STORIES FOR 2008. In this case, I'm going to tell you about the top story that directly touched my life, in many ways. And this is a story that really needs to spread across the land. We are all facing a coming crisis that may still be beyond our imagination.

In 2008, and even carrying over from 2007, Iowa had experienced a very brutal winter. Across this great state, many Iowans fell on their knees and prayed, and we had the support of many people across this great land. We've had to endure many hardships.

Despite the great adversities of last winter, we persevered. Iowans are resilient, as are most of the people across this great nation.

Being that this is my "Top Story of 2008," I wanted to make this a good one. That is why for the next few minutes, I'll just let the following videos speak for me:

Maybe the reason for sharing this story today is that we are all facing our storms. We now need to decide where we want to go. In the last video, there was Ashton Kutcher, a good ol' Iowa native. He decided to do what he could to help in his home state. I respect that. Really, I greatly do respect that. They DO make 'm good in Iowa. Joining in the effort to help out Iowans was another Iowa native, Shawn Johnson, an Olympic gymnast.

And better yet, there are efforts going on that you will probably never see in the news. We'll continue to talk about those efforts in the future.

There is a point to remember here. Consider what had happened here in Iowa as an example. As we face further tribulations - personal or nationwide - let's remember that we can all be here for each other. Let's be September 12th people, folks.

The Wizard of ODD

In trying to find out if there was anything in Wikipedia for "O.D.D.", I found the following:

Oppositional defiant disorder is a psychiatric category listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders where it is described as an ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile, and defiant behavior toward authority figures which goes beyond the bounds of normal childhood behavior.

That explains everything, doesn't it?

The President-Elect may have suffered from it when he was a kid, and most likely never recovered. I mean, just look at how much he disrepects America and everything it stands for, our Founding Fathers, the Constitution of the United States, the Star-Spangled Banner, and probably the Pledge of Allegiance.

So, why did I even bother to look up that acronym in the first place? Well, I wanted to coin a new acronym. It was going to be "ODD", meaning Obama Derangement Disorder. And while I find that the American Psychiatric Association has already spoken for the ODD acronym, I had to decide if there was still a way I could utilize this ODD idea in a column.

Let's go back and look at the description of ODD: It is an "ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile, and defiant behavior toward authority figures which goes beyond the bounds of normal childhood behavior." Hey, it seems that would describe a few of Obama's friends! I mean, well, who could think of more oppositionally defiant people than the Rev. Jeremiah Wright or former domestic terrorist without remorse Bill Ayers?

You do see where I am going with this, right? I think we need to petition the American Psychiatric Association to immediately change the name of ODD from Oppositional Defiant Order to Obama Derangement Disorder, in honor of the President-elect.

I mean, talk about defiance! Not wanting to produce a valid birth certificate? Oppositionally Defiant! Check. Disobedience regarding the Constitution of the United States? Check. Hostility toward anyone that wants to ask questions about his eligibility to be President of the United States? Does having all of your records sealed qualify for hostility? I think so. Check.

But the scariest part of this disorder is that it appears to be contagious. Not just to the point of being an epedemic. It has definitely gone into pandemic proportions! People all over the world seem to be inflicted with this particular strain. It seemed to have been spread at the time that Barack Obama went on his international speaking tour. I seem to remember seeing the news clips of the hoards of humanity that were screaming and shouting, and most likely hallucinating (they seemed to think they were seeing the Messiah!).

There is one more problem that seems to very prevalent among the afflicted. Like HIV lead to AIDS, BDS appears to be leading to ODD. Yes, the chances of somebody with the Bush Derangement Syndrome seems to be directly correlated with the recent ODD pandemic.

There could be a cure, and that is the good news. It doesn't seem to be a genetic disorder, also good news. It was found that uninfected parents can still have offspring that have been diagnosed with this disorder. It is now theorized that the communication of the disorder could be happening in schools and college campuses. It has also been observed that in most cases, adult instructors seemed to be the ones that were the ground-zero point of infection.

Vast resources are going into finding the cure and an inoculation to prevent ODD. The New Media has been doing all we can in order to educate the public. However, it is an overwhelming task to finance the needed research and public education. Unfortunately, just like when the AIDS virus was getting started, the media has not been our friend. The AIDS disease could have been minimized had it become public knowledge much sooner, and now we're having the exact same problem preventing ODD. In fact, it even seems as though the mainstream media sources are not only making this an obscure story, they are also promoting the abhorrent behavior that expands the massive damage to the health of our country, not to mention, our national security.

I am sure that you have seen how tragic this disorder is. It just seems so obvious when you see people that are ODD. The childlike behaviour of believing in the most unbelievable fantasies. I mean, people that only knew one thing about the candidate, and possible source of this deadly behavioral disease, and that was "hope for change." And yes, if you noticed I said "deadly," you would hopefully know just how profound that was. Because it seems like they are willing to watch the suicide of America happen right in front of them, and not say anything (unless you are Glenn Beck).

So, what is real anymore? Is there the Wizard of ODD behind the curtain? Believe me, insanity is just not the way I want to go. I am immune to ODD. I've made sure of that. I made sure my only savior was the REAL One, Jesus Christ. Please innoculate yourself now.

Why I DO Have a Column Today

In Joseph Farah's "non-column" today on WorldNetDaily, "Why I don't have a column today", there was something to think about. And, there was much more to learn. Whether he knows it yet, or not, he took lemons and has turned them into lemonade.

Despite Joseph's grandest efforts to be prepared for disaster, he still went through a nightmare following a violent storm. He had his back up generator for when the electricity goes out, and he had his sump pump to keep his basement from getting wet. Actually, he wasn't quite 100% prepared, because he neglected to get a back up battery for the pump. The ultimate disaster happened when his generator died, and the pump was then out of service. Joseph and his family did their best to literally try to bail out of the problem, but to no avail.

I did say that there was something to think about and things to learn from this, right? Good! Because there is. So, let's think this through. Let's actually put our minds to work to discover what the good is that will come from Joseph's "non-column". This is the main prerequisite to being able to learn the lessons from the Farah Disaster.

You and I know that there is so much in life that can be by far more difficult than what Joseph went through! Hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods... all those disasters that can wipe out our lives as we know it, in a very short amount of time. And then, there are those difficult times when we lose a loved one, our jobs, or suffer disabling health problems. These things can happen to EVERY ONE OF US, despite our best attempts to prevent and prepare.

Can you prevent all that could possibly happen to you? No. The true question is: Are you prepared if something does happen? It should be known that regardless of all you do to "prevent" the worst disasters, it isn't always in your control.

Very unfortunately, when those things happen that were beyond our prevention, many will ask questions. Those questions are usually directed toward God: Why weren't you looking after me? Why did you allow those bad things to happen? How am I supposed to stay faithful and believing when these things happen?

Those that are "spiritually wise" always seem to have the answers, too: You did something wrong and now you are being punished... The Lord has a purpose for what happened to you.... You will learn from this experience... Satan is attacking you to prevent you from doing God's work...

Or worst of all, from the non-spiritual folks: Don't worry, the government will help you out. (Hey, guys, isn't that supposed to be the one they use for the people that are irresponsible about prevention and preparation?)

But, are those the answers that we really want to hear during the troubled times? Do those cliche's really help you get through all that comes at you? Well, not really. The fact is, it doesn't matter how we rationalize our difficult times. Because...

What really matters is this: Do you still Love God, do you still Trust God, and do you still have Faith in Jesus Christ?
