Why do they need to raise the tax on the gas for your car?

By John Kubicek

Do they really think that they've dumbed us down enough to get away with this fuzzy math? Just when our cost to drive to work has gone done dramatically because of the drop in gas prices, now the morons in the government want to raise our fuel taxes! Well, not enough of us have been dumbed down that much to fall for allowing a higher tax to drive our cars.

What many people may not realize is that the fuel taxes are based on the number of gallons sold. It has nothing at all to do with a percentage of the purchase price like sales taxes.

Here is the math as it should be, but also includes a little knowledge of basic economics. In the present system with the tax set to the gallons sold, if the price of gasoline goes down, people will buy more, and the revenues from the tax will increase. The lower the cost of the fuel, the more people will drive, and thus, purchase more fuel and PAY MORE TAXES!

So, with a lot more tax revenues coming in, at least in Iowa, there are politicians ready to pass and approve an increase in the fuel taxes. Their story is that our infrastructure needs a lot of improvement. That is a true horror story, being that we have to wonder why the state couldn't finance the work that needed to be done with the revenues that they had coming in. With the lower gas prices, and if my math is correct, and MORE GAS is being sold, why is that revenue increase not quite enough to fund some (needed?) projects?

Could more fuel efficient vehicles have something to do with declines in fuel tax revenues?  Over time, that will become a bigger issue.  But, for now, the high prices for fuel that had occurred over the last six years had a much larger impact on lowered fuel tax revenues.

When the Republican Governor of Iowa, Terry Brandstadt, favors the increase, I fear for our future.   Increasing a regressive tax like the fuel tax is bad for Iowans, and Americans! Higher fuel taxes will add to agricultural costs, and that will ripple across the economy.   I can not explain how such a mistake could be made by Republicans. The new U.S. Senator from Iowa, Joni Ernst (R), has stated that she also favors an increase in the fuel tax.  I just don't get it.

Let's be smart, and allow the market to adjust to the lower gas prices, and there will be more revenues coming in for both the State of Iowa and the federal government.  Here in Iowa, our representatives in Des Moines need to say "NO!" to a higher fuel tax.   What needs to be done can be accomplished by giving the free market the freedom to "drill, drill, drill" and build the Keystone XL pipeline, and make America energy independent.  Just sayin'....

It is up to us citizens to let our representatives know that we do not approve of an increase in the fuel tax.

This Is How They Do It

By John Kubicek

There will be one thing that will be apparent to you in a very short amount of time: President Obama will find a way to make the bad economy be for his advantage in November of 2012. Obama is in the process of making sure that Republicans and rich people get the blame for how bad things are going,  even with all of the stupid ideas the Democrats and progressives have come up with that have failed.

It's Class Warfare 101. It's a trap, and Republicans can hardly avoid falling into it! It really isn't that difficult, is it? Obama's proposals to stimulate the economy with further spending and higher taxes will be a none-starter in the House, controlled by the Republicans. There are doubts that even the Senate will give Obama's plan a chance. When the economy totally fails, as it will pretty soon, Obama's propaganda arm in the media will reiterate the White House claims that it was because the Republicans refused to act on Obama's plan.

There will be anger out there amongst the potential voters in 2012 due to the fact that things are going so bad. The Democrats, especially those occupying the White House, are fully depending on the anger being directed towards wealthier Americans, which then will be extended to mean the Republican Party. It really wouldn't be that difficult for "the masses" to be influenced to direct their disgust toward those that we know as the Capitalists.

Obama and his Leftist minions are playing the "American Spring" card. They are depending on the ignorance of the American People, perpetuated by the dominance of the Left in our public schools and the media, to know that it is Capitalism that provides jobs.

Believe it or not, I came up with the ambition to write about the antidote to the sure re-election of The One (bHo) when a song came to my mind this morning: "This Is How We Do It". I think that there is a way to vastly decrease the amount of influence that the liberals have over the American people. It's kind of diabolical, but I believe that it would work. It may be our only hope.

After years of indoctrination from the mainstream media, Hollywood, and "educational" institutions (more like public indoctrination centers), we've learned that black people and women have been held down (so they say), and unable to reach the top positions in politics and society. We the people should probably give some thought to using that against the Left. This may sound crazy - but no crazier than the idea that my friend Joseph Farah proposed - what we need on the Republican ticket, to defeat Obama, is a black guy and a woman. Hear me out: It isn't that crazy of an idea!

Seriously, I'd love to see the way the Democrat-controlled media would spin a Palin/Cain or Cain/Bachmann ticket for the GOP! The Democrats could not use the racist or feminist cards. Just how could they find a way to get the masses to throw darts at pictures of a black man or a woman? They can't. That is why this idea is going to throw broken glass under the tires of the Democrat machine.

The Liberals/Progressives have had generations to mess with our heads. It's time to turn the tables on them. It's time to show the people that they have been lied to, that it isn't about race or gender. We need to help people understand that the United States of America is still a great country where all people have a chance to succeed. This coming election is our time to defeat the defeatists that have tried to tell you that you have no chance to overcome the odds against you.

This is how we do it!

The Big Tent Is Becoming Green

By John Kubicek

It is supposedly Spring here in Iowa. Normally, I'd be in shorts by this time of the year, out mowing the lawn, and getting the sunburn that I should be trying to avoid. But this year? While we've had a few nice days, I'm still wearing a sweatshirt and had to turn on the HEAT this morning! So, just believe me, there are far fewer people living in Northern areas of America that will go along with the "Global Warming" malarky, especially after the brutal Winter many of us recently experienced.

And yet, there are those that want to keep playing along with the "Global Warming" song and dance. The most appalling aspect of this is that many of the "believers" in climate-change-caused-by-man are coming from the what was once called the Christian Right. Sadly, they are now part of the Green Religion Movement.

This situation of a large part of the right wing base of the GOP moving to the "center" has been no accident. Just watch the following video, and you'll understand what I am saying:

Now, if you think back about a year ago, who was the presumed Republican Party nominee for President? All the pundits were picking Rudy Guiliani at that time. However, he proved to be way too far to the left for a large part of the Conservative base of the GOP. The powers-that-be couldn't convince Conservative Republicans that they could wrap their arms around a pro-gay marriage, anti-gun, pro-abortion candidate. They found an alternate candidate that was still in the "center", John McCain. And they found that they attract more people into the Big Green Tent by utilizing the global warming scam.

So, is it just me that thinks the tainting of the Republican Party was purposeful? With the coronation of John McLame as the new "savior" of the party, the global elitists (the "shadow government") were able to find their guy. They have all of their bets covered now. The Green Movement was all that they needed to pervert what I had previously believed was the party of the Conservatives, the GOP. When so-called evangelical churches were coerced into showing algore's "Convenient Lies" movie, I knew it was all over.

With the video that I embedded in this edition, I was able to provide you with the information that you need to witness the outright re-invention of what the Republicans are supposed to stand for. The GOP is being re-branded before our eyes. And I am not falling for it.

Just where to take Project HAVOC is now the biggest question. My friend Joseph Farah explained "why McCain must lose" in his column the other day. And then Vox Day chimed in, with "Poison is no antidote," and seemed to have pounded the final nail into the coffin of the GOP, saying:
If the Republican Party is not going to go the way of the Whig, it must reject the call to continue on its current path to becoming the nation's second socialist party and instead dedicate itself to becoming the party of individual liberty, small and limited constitutional government, sound money and peaceful national sovereignty that many once believed it to be.

The Republican nominee, John McCain. should lose in November; Farah desires it, and Vox Day explains it. The problem is, they are both picking the Democrat nominee, most likely Barack Obama, to win the November election. Their pessimism is aggravating!

Are we going to take it laying down? Shouldn't we, the Conservatives, have an alternative? Is there an alternative out there that would ever have a chance as a 3rd Party or Independent candidate? Or, do we have to pick between the choices that are being shoved down our throats by the GOP and dhimmicrats? Is there a way to escape from the Big Green Tent?

(And by the way, if you are wondering about the JFK 2008 picture above, it is the symbolic representation of the "Unknown Mystery Candidate" and in no way represents anyone in particular, though I did use my own initials...)

The McLame Dream Gets More Discombobulated

By John Kubicek

Please, somebody wake me up, tell me this is just a nightmare!

I'm sitting here watching the news, and I see that McLame went to Portland, Oregon to talk about the environment. Say hello, Kyoto Treaty. Say good bye, oil drilling in the U. S. of A.

Following that news, I again had another flashback to the Discombobulated Dream. With Hillary's nomination chances going down the tube, and the pundits saying there is no way that Obama will pick her as his Veep, what other choice does she have...

But I digress. The whole thing is, it doesn't even matter if that stupid discombobulated dream came true. McLame can take that nuclear option and have Hillary for his VP, or not - I wouldn't vote for him anyway. To be honest, John McCain is just as, if not more, dangerous than Clinton or Obama, or both of them combined (don't worry, that won't happen). If you think "W" was bad, McLame will not only be an extension of the Bush Dynasty, he would put the agenda into over-drive, on steroids! McLame, or McAmnesty, or what ever you want to call that beast, he's far from being a Conservative Republican. "RINO" would be too nice of a word.

While Rush Limbaugh is doing his thing as Commander-in-chief of "Operation Chaos" on the Democrat side - I'm going to have to do the same to the Republican Party. As a LIFE-LONG Republican, I'm sad that this is the way I have to go. But McLame has left me no choice. He's too Green, and I keep seeing more Red.

The question is going to be, "now, what do we do?" Those of us who are orphans of the Republican Party are left with absolutely no option but to either stay home on election day, or vote 3rd party and hand the election to Obama. Or, does that have to be the way it is? Are there enough of us out here that could make the GOP become one of the fringe 3rd parties?

I am praying about this, folks. There is that one obstacle I see when I have those NON-discombobulated dreams: We have a problem of being in unison on who to choose as our nominee. And it has unfortunately been agreed upon that a "3rd Party" has no chance. Well, maybe it is about time we change that pessimistic outlook.

The Discombobulation Syndrome Strikes Again!

The Discombobulation Syndrome Strikes Again!

The problem with those occassional dreams is that they are always so discombobulated. The frustration comes from trying to determine the "message" we are supposedly able to get. Those vivid but discombobulated dreams just seam to stick in your head. It lead me to write what I did yesterday, in "A Discombobulated Dream."

Well, here is the REAL straight talk about that rant I had yesterday. I now admit that I not only discussed, but also only thought about, just one side of the coin. In that commentary, it was the Hill-Billy Team (labeled as Team Billary in that article) that would do whatever it took to team up with Johnny McCain, just for their benefit of getting power later on down the road. While concentrating on that theme, I overlooked another way it could be analyzed.

Let's not forget about the Real McCain. That's the Senator that has his name on McCain-Feingold. John McCain - Mr. Shamnesty - is the guy that wanted liberal immigration laws to the degree of giving millions of illegals amnesty. I'm just saying, I think that actually, and honestly, wouldn't he be the one that would bend to the other side of the aisle?

I guess that I wasn't that far off in my analysis yesterday, other than I didn't consider the 2nd dimension, that there are at least two sides to the coin. I must have somehow forgotten that the coin is supposed to be "bi-partisan".

One of the things that lead me to write about the new revelation this morning was when I discovered the blog, "
Chris Matthews Other Leg". It was when I came across the story, "McCain - A Dyed In The Wool...Liberal! ," that I suddenly had another flashback of my discombobulated dream.

It scares me, because there really could be the Discombobulated Dream Team (DDT) of McCain/Clinton, only they wouldn't be "meeting in the middle". No, I think John McCain would move as far left as necessary to make Hillary feel welcome as part of the "GOP" ticket.

This has to be a nightmare!
