Obama's Worst Nightmare! Know what it is?

By John Kubicek

There is a good chance that Barack Obama has nightmares, night after night. As the election gets close, he's got to be having those kind of nights where he just wants to wake up. And in the meantime, Americans ARE waking up, which is why Barack is having those nightmares.

There are a couple great Americans that have recently woken up to smell the coffee. There's one in particular that must have gone around shaking the rest of us awake, and wiping the sandman's residue from our eyes. The voice of "Joe the Plumber" suddenly came out loud and clear. People heard the call. And despite the fact that the Obama campaign tried to clamp down on the press, their efforts didn't quite muffle the voice of Samuel J. "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher, somebody else caught on.

That's right. There was somebody else that was new on "the scene," somebody that had to wait patiently in the wings. Suddenly, that person, a Governor, a woman, began speaking up. And what this "obscure" Veep candidate did was to fire up the real base of the party to defeat the Obamanation:

And suddenly, the inspiration to keep on keeping on seemed to spread. Yes, a hug really helps now and then!

Well, inspiration seems to be contagious! Have you seen anything like this in the McCain campaign?

Okay, so I am sufficiently fired up. Yes, first there was Governor Sarah Palin and Todd Palin and the family; then, on the scene comes "Joe the Plumber". Until the "Joe the Plumber question, the Obama 'Spread the wealth' answer", the GOP was trying to hold Sarah back. Suddenly, though, the fuse was lit. One guy, an obscure American that was just trying to mind his own life, got things started. Next thing he knows, he's in the spotlight, and then he's being investigated.

Have you wondered why?

There is somebody that is very afraid that he could still lose the election. That person is doing all he can to silence this story, but it is of no avail. He feels the "heat". Though the pundits would say it was too late, there are those of us that are just plain fired up. You betcha!

Warning to Citizens: Ask questions at your own risk

By John Kubicek

Apparently, we (concerned citizens, patriots, the New Media, "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher, Sarah Palin) have made somebody very, very angry. Well, you see the problem, don't you? We weren't supposed to know that Barack Obama is a Socialist (or worse). We were also supposed to be kept unaware of what Obama's promise of "change" would be.

The main stream media was doing everything they could to keep it a secret. And now that the "secret plan of Socialism" is exposed, thanks to Joe the Plumber and Gov. Sarah Palin, we are also now becoming aware of the tyranny that is a natural by-product of Socialism... We weren't supposed to know about that, either!

And then, while watching Neil Cavutto on Fox News Saturday morning, I was able to capture the following segment from the show:

Just Because Joe the Plumber Spoke Up - TheRealjohnny2k

The investigation that Neil and Joe are talking about in the video above is an extreme case of abuse of power, obviously by Obama allies. Here is part of the story from http://www.therightperspective.com/:

State and local officials in Columbus, Ohio are investigating if state and law-enforcement computer systems were illegally accessed when they were tapped for personal information about Joe “the Plumber” Wurzelbacher.

Information on Wurzelbacher’s driver’s license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate, reports The Dispatch. The info was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.

Now, that adds even more interest to this story. Being that Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers is most likely - no, wait, let's go with obviously - a very strong ally of Barack Obama, it is time to call for a special prosecutor and FBI investigation into this case. Nancy Rogers can not be trusted to investigate her own office.

And now, keep in mind, this is the one and the same Nancy H. Rogers that was ordered by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in "an emergency ruling requiring the state to generate a list of more than 200,000 new voters whose information did not match other state records", and then on emergency review, got the U. S. Supreme Court to vacate that ruling. Here is more about that from AlterNet.org, By Wendy Weiser, Brennan Center for Justice, October 22, 2008:

On September 26, 2008, the Ohio Republican Party asked a federal court to issue an emergency ruling requiring the state to generate a list of more than 200,000 new voters whose information did not match other state records, presumably so those voters could be purged from the rolls right before the election, forced to vote provisional ballots, or challenged at the polls. They asked the court before the absentee ballots cast by new registrants were opened and counted. A federal court granted the temporary restraining order, and after a three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit stayed that order, the full appeals court, sitting en banc, reinstated it. On emergency review, the U.S. Supreme Court vacated the TRO on October 17, 2008, preventing chaos in the election in Ohio and protecting hundreds of thousands of Ohio citizens from disenfranchisement-by-typo.

While I am willing to graciously admit that the U.S. Supreme Court may have made the right decision in this case, the information above does indicate the unwillingness from the Ohio Attorney General's office, run by Nancy Rogers, to resolve the issue of the possibility of thousands of fraudulent voter registrations, garnered mostly by ACORN (another Obama ally). On May 28, 2008, Governor Ted Strickland (a staunch Democrat) named Rogers as Attorney General, replacing Marc Dann (who resigned due to a scandal - see the link to the wiki site from the hyperlink from Marc Dann).

Of course, this information does not prove that Ohio Attorney General Nancy Hardin Rogers had a direct connection to the investigation of Joe Wurzelbacher, but it does illustrate the influence that the Attorney General's office may have had in what should be the "October Surprise" we've been waiting for.

It is one thing for the drive-by media and the Democrat party to send many reporters and lawyers to Alaska to investigate (i.e. dig up dirt on) Gov. Sarah Palin, now the candidate for V.P. on the Republican ticket with John McCain. That is pretty much to be expected. But, for someone, or some group, to start trying to find dirt on Joe Wurzelbacher, is unconscionable. The fact that the info was accessed from three seperate government entities, shortly after the last Presidential Debate, where "Joe the Plumber" was mentioned numerous times, should be enough to make us all shudder.

I fear the worst in this breaking news. I do not think that there is anything to be found on Mr. Wurzelbacher that could make any difference regarding his question to Barack Obama. That water has already gone over the dam. What is frightening is the thought that somebody would use the information to go after good old Joe the Plumber, just to make his life miserable. And this is the MOST terrifying part of all: Is this their way of retaliating against Joe the Plumber for his question, and letting the cat out of the bag about Obama being a Socialist?

Is this a "suggestion" (a message) by "the powers that be" to citizens, that we best not ask any more questions "if you know what's good for you"?

Will one of us average people out here in the blogosphere face the same treatment as "Joe the Plumber"? Will you soon be reading about what they did to "Johnny the Blogger"?

I want thank Peter Goodman (NewsGuy2005 on digg.com) for telling me about a story that was on therightperspective.com. To be honest, the only material I really had to work with before I was directed to Joe the Plumber Background Check Investigated was the video embedded above. The story Peter alerted me to turned out to be the piece of the puzzle I needed to get this blog written today. He "shouted" the story to me just at the right time.

This acknowledgement is written for another reason along with being an opportunity to thank Peter. What this illustrates is that the passion Conservatives are sharing at this time can be very valuable when we assist each other in our efforts. By collaborating on stories, sharing information, promoting each other's works, and edifying our cohorts, the amount of influence and credibility that we can gain is immense. It is also a way that we can cover each other's six (back side).

And like Rush Limbaugh stated just the other day, our side must win, Obama must be defeated, even if we have to drag John McCain over the finish line. (Paraphrased.) Which leads me to a final acknowledgement, and that is to thank "Joe the Plumber", Mr. Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, for being in the right place at the right time, and somehow sparking a campaign that may have been fizzling. It's a whole different story now.

Oh, and for Sarah Palin, just for being the champion of the Conservative movement. You rock, Sarah!

Joe the Plumber Explains Socialism to America

By John Kubicek

Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, now known as "Joe the Plumber," found himself in the national spotlight recently:

AssociatedPress - 'Joe the Plumber' Becomes Focus of Debate

In the above AP video, we get to listen to an edited version of Barack Obama saying, "Blah, blah, blah, uh.... blah, blah, blah, uh blah... ," and all the while, "Joe the Plumber" is patiently trying to get in a question. You get to wait until the very end of the video before you hear part of the words that Obama blurted out that delivered Joe the Plumber into the media spotlight: "Spread the wealth around...."

As soon as the story came out, where the world saw verification that Obama is a Socialist that wants to redistribute the wealth, the left-wing tools of the mainstream media moved in to try to discredit "Joe the Plumber." Well, that didn't work out too well, as Joe is able to repel the attacks. His weapon? Knowledge. He is intelligent enough to know what Socialism is.

And better yet, Joe understands why Socialism is wrong. In this next segment, Neil Cavutto of Fox News has Joe on the phone:

DhimmiTube666 - Joe the Plumber Calls Obama a Socialist for his "Spread the Wealth" Comment on Fox News

Our hats off to Joe the Plumber. He gets it. This is driving the liberals and the left-wing media nuts. He's just like Sarah Palin. One of "us". The elitists, which also includes some from the liberal Republican wing, would really like these people, Joe and Sarah, to just shut up. But, that's not going to happen! Why, afterall, Joe the Plumber got on Hannity & Colmes on Monday night:

TheRealjohnny2k - Joe the Plumber Explains Socialism to America

Joe the Plumber showed us a few things about this election. First, if you speak up, watch out, because the left-wing media tools will come out after you. That's kind of scary! Second, this plumber just happens to be aware of what is going on in this election... despite the fact that he's taking the time to throw the football around with his son. He's like us. He takes care of his family, and he still finds the time to seek the knowledge to know what is going on in this election.

Neither Gov. Sarah Palin nor Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher are elitists educated in some Ivy League school. No, they didn't attend "Hawvawd". They are like most of us. The distance between them and the elitists that want to run this country is vast.

Now, this is for those that haven't yet seen the light: Look at the contempt that the "elite" has for the middle class, which can easily be illustrated by the contempt the liberal left, or even the elite in the GOP, has for Gov. Sarah Palin or "Joe the Plumber". That contempt extends to us, those of us "bitter Americans" that "cling to our guns and religion".

It may not end up winning the election, but that gal from Wasilla and the dude from Ohio are taking on the "establishment". They became the symbols for Middle America. They are letting us know that we face Socialism should we lose this battle. We have a Governor, and we have a plumber, both able and willing to tell it like it is.

Really, We Weren't Supposed to Know

By John Kubicek

Well... We never know when our last moments on this earth will be. And what if you had something on your heart that you wanted to tell people, but your time came before you had the opportunity, or before you took advantage of having an opportunity?

And what if you knew that if you stuck your neck out, it could end up being very unpopular with those that have power? I am afraid to say, but that could the situation I am in today. Whether it happens 15 minutes after I have posted this to the world venue of the internet, or possibly soon after the inauguration of the next President on January 20. 2009, I have to accept the possibility that those black Suburbans will roll up my driveway, to take me away to who knows where or what.

So, here it goes...

From MSNBC:

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for president on Sunday, criticizing his own Republican Party for what he called its narrow focus on irrelevant personal attacks over a serious approach to challenges he called unprecedented.
First of all, the "attacks" are neither irrelevant or unwarranted. The truth is, the information about Barack Hussein Obama is not an attack, but just the facts. However, the problem is, the McCain campaign can not get out all of the facts in a campaign speech, a debate, or in a TV news interview. If they were going to get out ALL of the facts in one sitting, they'd end up sounding like an Alan Keyes speech, and they would lose the majority of the American voters for just the reason that many people would be unable to assemble all of the information, especially in one burst. Anything beyond a half an hour is far beyond the attention span of the "average" American.

To be honest with you, most of the Obama "attacks" are not actually coming from the McCain campaign. Well, not directly. Do you remember those rallies where John McCain tried to stress that we needed to "respect" his opponent? Do ya remember that? Well, if Colin Powell is criticizing the McCain campaign for "personal attacks," what would he say about something like this that I found on youtube.com today?

Oh, you think that is not all that bad? Well, here is one that will definitely show you just how far the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" will go:

Okay, just wait a minute, before you start blasting me with hate-mail, please allow me to explain the rationale of this particular composition. On the one hand, we have the people that express their views that Obama is pure evil, and many people in the "middle" tend to think it is way over the top. But on the other hand, we have the McCain campaign seeming to not want to "offend" or "disrespect" Obama, almost to the degree that Republicans were going nuts because they felt he wasn't saying what is necessary.

But, isn't that really the whole problem? I spent the last few days thinking about it. In fact, I wanted to blog about some of my other ideas about how to not just focus on the Obama negatives, but also show what a great team McCain/Palin could be. And I had some great things to say about how "Joe the Plumber" needed to be our inspiration! Really, it was all good stuff. Well, my good intentions were totally snuffed by various technical difficulties. That happens.

Hey, maybe I did get one good video that sheds a very positive light on the alternative to the ObamaNation! This is great stuff:

Yes, that's the Sarah we love. It's not all about Obama, but what we should be expecting from our representatives and the CEO of the USA.

That's right, I have "suckered" you into watching the above video. It is because I really DO know that it's guys like "Joe the Plumber", you, me... and Sarah Palin, the one from the unknown country... from out of nowhere... You know where that could go, right? Of course you do.

And here I go, into the part of this discourse that may just bury me. It seems that I've been seeing a scenario where people get to choose between leaders, and it is actually a spiritual war. You will soon need to make the choice of which side you are going to back. The role you will play in these times will come down to who you vote for. You better be very prepared to accept the ultimate consequences of your decision.

The ACORN Connection (that few know about)

By John Kubicek

To my friends within the "blogosphere", the mention of ACORN has been widespread for quite some time now. And to those of us "news junkies" that watch such networks as the Fox News Channel, we've been hearing about ACORN, literally on a daily basis, and much of the news is alarming. First, it was ACORN's influence on the economic crisis where mortgage loans had gone into affirmative action mode. And now, the emphasis has been on the ACORN effort to register new voters in ways that may taint the integrity of the election of our next President this year. I'll be offering evidence of that effort later in this column, but first, allow me to explain what ACORN is.

Everybody has heard of ACORN, right? Wrong! In my own independent poll, when asking my friends and family if they know about it, the answer has usually been a blank stare or silence on a phone call. Will you forgive me if I say what the normal reaction is? Many of the people I have asked have no clue what ACORN is!

I need to digress for a moment. In recent days, the McCain/Palin campaign has been mentioning the connection that Barack Hussein Obama has (oh, sorry, I mean that he "had") with the "domestic terrorists" - William "Bill" Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn. (And if you don't know about that part of this story, you've been living in a cave!) What many people don't know at this time, as is apparent from my personal interviews, is that the Bill Ayers connection is just the tip of the iceberg.

Now we know why the McCain/Palin campaign hasn't been talking about the ACORN connection with Barack Obama. Not enough people watch Fox News, or listen to Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, or many other radio talk show hosts, and they don't read the blogs. Simply said, the SHEEPLE are clueless.

So, what is ACORN? Allow me to have Hal Lindsey explain it as he did so well in a recent column:

The most underreported story of this election season is the Association of Community Organizers For Reform Now, known by its acronym, ACORN.

ACORN grew out of what wins the prize hands-down for one of the silliest and most destructive advocacy groups America has ever known – the National Welfare Rights Organization.

Founded by George Wiley, the NWRO became an army of single minority mothers whom he sent out to disrupt welfare offices through sit-ins and demonstrations demanding an end to oppressive eligibility restrictions. His aim was to so flood welfare offices as to cause the system to burst, creating a crisis he hoped would correct America's "unjust capitalist society." From 1965 to 1974, the nation's welfare rolls more than doubled to 10.3 million during generally good economic times. Clearly, it was a winning tactic.

One of ACORN's later tactics was to flood banks and mortgage companies the same way, insisting that they do away with those pesky mortgage eligibility requirements. ACORN was among those most responsible for the failure of the mortgage market and, astonishingly, until some sharp-eyed lawmaker noticed and stripped them out, ACORN was among those named as bailout recipients.

So, what does ACORN have to do with Barack Obama? I'll have Henry Lamb, from a column he wrote, "The 'change' Obama brings," jump in here to explain:

The centerpiece of Barack Obama's campaign is "change." His primary qualification for the office he seeks is his experience as a "community organizer," a state senator for eight years, and a U.S. senator since 2004. To see just what changes Obama wants to bring to the country it is reasonable to look at the values he has demonstrated and the causes he has pursued during his professional career.

Obama's community organizing experience began in 1985 in Chicago. He chose to work for ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). A review of ACORN's Peoples Platform reveals much about Obama's ideology. The ACORN platform is remarkably similar to the Socialist Party USA platform. Obama's work as a community organizer has won him endorsements from ACORN, from socialists and from communists.

Henry Lamb, weekly columnist for WorldNetDaily.com, continues in the column mentioned above:

Obama's Chicago community organizing efforts took him from the housing projects to the churches. He obviously liked the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's brand of "Liberation Theology," which casts minorities as victims that must be liberated. This ideology squared perfectly with ACORN's vision of the poor. For more than 20 years, Obama worshiped at the feet of the preacher whose most famous sermons called on God to "damn" America.

Obama's path to government also led him through various foundations, such as the Woods Fund, where he served along with Bill Ayers. Together, they were able to funnel significant funding to ACORN, to Jeremiah Wright's church and other similar groups. Between 1992 and 1995, ACORN received $1,493,000 from the Campaign for Human Development, a Catholic charities organization, according to a report for Catholic bishops prepared by the Wanderer Forum Foundation.

For further information, I recommend that you check out the video on youtube.com that Henry Lamb refers to, which was longer than I wanted to use for this piece: Obama, Acorn, And Election Fraud (9:26)

In the last five days, I added four videos to my youtube channel that discuss allegations of voter fraud, and guess who is at the center of the storm: ACORN. Now, here is the latest one that I added, where John Kasich, former Congressman from Ohio, joins Bill O'Reilly (Oct. 13, 2008):

Obama's ACORN connection is a vastly under-reported story in the mainstream media. Even though some news sources have now begun discussing the voter fraud allegations concerning ACORN, you will find any mention of Barack Obama's connection to ACORN to be very scarce. This may be the reason why the McCain/Palin campaign isn't talking about it at the rallies. Sure, they mention Bill Ayers and the fact that Ayers was a domestic terrorist, and is still unrepentant. However, to try to explain all of the evidence of Obama's association with ACORN has been off the table, and there are some obvious reasons for that, one being that very few people even know what ACORN is (until now).

Now, in the McCain campaign, Obama's ACORN connection has slipped completely under the radar, and there are some reasons that are not clearly self explanatory. So, let me just wrap this up with what columnist James Simpson says in the American Thinker on September 28, 2008:
Yet, no one to my knowledge has yet connected all the dots between Barack Obama and the Radical Left. When seen together, the influences on Obama's life comprise a who's who of the radical leftist movement, and it becomes painfully apparent that not only is Obama a willing participant in that movement, he has spent most of his adult life deeply immersed in it.

For the Children: It should be an easy decision

By John Kubicek

Before I start on my rant today, you need to see the following video:

After watching the above video, I will find it easy to vote AGAINST Obama. I may have done that anyway by voting for a 3rd Party candidate, except for the fact that John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. Connecting the dots to my support for McCain/Palin should now be easy.

The Perfect October Surprise

By John Kubicek

Shouldn't we have all known that there would be an "October Surprise"?

Had it been a terrorist attack, either bigger or smaller than September 11, 2001, do you have any doubt who would be winning in the polls? Would there not have been a gigantic John McCain landslide? No doubt.

But now, we have this economic collapse. All the people that have been working hard, saving, doing what needed to be done in order to have a comfortable retirement, will soon be toast.

There is something very strange about what has happened that is giving me nightmares - you know, like my "Discombobulated Dreams". What is so sad is that the very politicians that caused the financial havoc beyond anything we have seen since the Great Depression in the 1930's, are going to be the politicians that will benefit the most in the polls 27 days from now.

Of course, I'll be accused of utilizing the "fear factor" in my support for the GOP candidate, John McCain. But, I think I've figured this whole thing out, and I need to share these thoughts with you today.

While we watch the economy crumble around us, we will get that helpless feeling. In many cases, it will be the people that worked their whole lives to make it to retirement, to get their kids through college, giving their hard-earned dollars to help out the poor, their own kids, the people that live in countries that live horribly cruddy lives in poverty, the tithing to their churches to help out the various missions... Well, you know, those of us that cling to our Bibles, our guns, and most importantly, for many of us - Our God - will be the ones that are going to be hurt the most. And meanwhile, those that sit around playing on their PlayStations, or AIG executives that go to Vegas and get their manicures on government bailout monies, they will have their savior, the government.

So, what a perfect time to create the situation where only the government can assist them in the times of trouble. The annointed one, the Obamessiah; they will have their candidate that will come to the rescue. It seems to me that Obama and the Democrats have their perfect October Surprise. It was what got Franklin D. Roosevelt elected in 1932. Nothing like extreme economic hardship to get people to accept whatever has to be done. Nothing like a promise of "Change" and "Hope" in these times. If you can't make it on your own, if you aren't perseverent enough to make it through hard times, you have the government there for you. They'll bail you out, right?

Well, no, they won't.... but they don't want you to know that. They will use the children - those indoctrinated by the various liberal groups out there - to keep you feeling guilty if you have made it on your own. While the really wealthy people keep on getting their backs scratched in those wonderful Vegas spas, all will be well as long as you don't expect anything but the crumbs that are left over.

A week ago, Mark DeRosa of the Chicago Cubs got the series rolling with a homerun, giving the Cubs a two-run lead over the Dodgers in the first game of the NLDS. That equates to the great choice of John McCain getting Sarah Palin to be his running mate. From there, the Cubs squandered opportunity after opportunity with baserunners in scoring position. And, John McCain must not make the same mistake. Take a swing or two, McCain! Our FREEDOM is depending on you to at least take a hack or two. McCain needs to quit watching the hanging curve balls that could be hit out of the park.

Strike one, strike two... Hey, same feeling I had last Saturday night. Bottom of the ninth... two outs, no balls and two strikes. McCain, you have runners in scoring position. Sarah Palin is waiting on third base, ready to make a run for the plate. You have guys and gals out here filling the other bases, too, trying to make a difference. We're the fans. We're the ones that know that it's all coming down to crunch time. Make a real effort, give them the October Surprise that keeps us in the game, at least for four more years!

We Will Soon Know "The Prince"

By John Kubicek

In my conversation with a wise man today, I learned about the book, "The Prince", by Machiavelli. It was unexpected to be the recipient of this knowledge. This wise man told me how that book, "The Prince", has become the manual for dictators, and Adolph Hitler was one that learned from it.

Oh, did I tell you where this conversation had all started? This wise man told me how Barack Obama had adopted this strategy of involving the youth movements. And guess what? I had just come across a very disturbing video yesterday that directly relates to what that wise man was telling me about:

BARACK OBAMA KIDS AND HITLER YOUTH SING FOR THEIR LEADER

(The above video was provided by NObamaCHANGE)
Wow, pretty darn creepy, huh? The wise man was right. But of course, I had to look up "Machiavelli" and "The Prince", just to make sure we had all the pieces needed to put the puzzle together:
Machiavellian:

1. of, like, or befitting Machiavelli.
2. being or acting in accordance with the principles of government analyzed in Machiavelli's "The Prince", in which political expediency is placed above morality and the use of craft and deceit to maintain the authority and carry out the policies of a ruler is described.
3. characterized by subtle or unscrupulous cunning, deception, expediency, or dishonesty: He resorted to Machiavellian tactics in order to get ahead.
~noun
4. a follower of the principles analyzed or described in "The Prince", esp. with reference to techniques of political manipulation.

machiavellian. Dictionary.com. ~ Unabridged (v 1.1). Random House, Inc. ~ http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/machiavellian ~ (accessed: October 05, 2008).
So, between listening to the wise man and learning about the Machiavellion philosophy, along with the above video, the following clip that I obtained earlier, before the talk with the wise man, puts the puzzle all together.

And we will soon know the prince, should the Obamessiah win the election.

We're now down to the last 30 days as I speak.

The Parker Problem

By John Kubicek

I don't know if you happened to see the Kathleen Parker column, "The Palin Problem". I was surfing while searching for more info about John McCain's stance on the $700 Billion bailout, which I was going to write about yesterday, when I happened to come across PatriotPost.us and Parker's column. My attention immediately shifted from the idiocy of the bailout legislation, which thankfully was defeated, over to the scurrilous attacks on Sarah Palin by Kathleen Parker.

Now, there is this problem that I needed to think about today. There has been much said from a handful of Republicans regarding Sarah Palin's abilities to handle the job of VP, let alone being put in the position where she would have to assume the duties of being Commander in Chief. It is bad enough when Sarah Palin has to endure the viscious attacks from the far left. And now, there is this hit piece by Kathleen Parker to deal with.

First of all, I have to admit, I hadn't yet seen the Katie Couric interview of Sarah Palin, but I had heard that it didn't go so well. So, I went to my source, youtube.com, to find out exactly what happened in that interview. What I saw was appalling. No, I don't mean Sarah's performance, but how the interview was perceived by the Palin haters out there. Want to see an example of what I found? I thought so. Here is one:

Now that you've seen that one, this next one will make more sense (oxymoron unintentional):

Now, besides the fact that those two videos kind of tickled my funny bone, it did bring an epiphany to my attention. First, there is the fact that I had seen Sarah's interview with Sean Hannity, and I was totally impressed with her performance. Here is the first part of that interview:

(See the second part of the interview here)
(See the third part of the interview here)

So, can I ask, did you also notice a huge difference between the Hannity interview and the Couric interview? I sure did, and I suspect you are also thinking so. Doesn't that leave some questions in your mind? It's called video editing. In case you were unaware, the interview segments on the news are NOT done in real time. This means that you take a whole bunch of raw video, and then you get into the production room and put it together so that it fits a time slot that has been allocated. And guess what can happen? Can you see a "slight" possibility that certain biases could possibly infect the final result?

And then there is the Parker Problem. Kathleen Parker is apparently a Republican, but I'm thinking that she is "progressive".... somewhere a little left of even John McCain and Rudy Guilliani. I had to go to her archives at NationalReview.com (NRO) to see about where she stands. What I found confirmed some suspicions. You see, it turns out that Kathleen Parker wrote another hit piece on Gov. Palin way back on September 19, long before the Couric interview was aired. In "A Time to Worry", Parker finished the piece by stating:

Whatever happens, we may deserve what we get. On the other hand, maybe there’s still time to wise up: Obama boots Biden and taps Clinton; McCain dumps Palin and picks Romney. It’s a concept.
Is it just me, or does Parker seem to be just a little on the elitist side?

Now, with that being said, I rest my case. Parker IS one of the problems for the McCain/Palin campaign.

Well, we'll see, won't we. There is that debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden coming on Thursday, October 2, 2008. It will be broadcast live, in real time. No editing. Let's just see how well she performs in that situation. My guess is that she will verify that John McCain made the right choice. She won't be heading back to Alaska any time soon.... Maybe in a little more than 12 years from now, if things go right.

One Step Further ... (on the Road to Socialism)

By John Kubicek

I think that we just need to ask two questions about the Wall Street bailout. First, I want to ask who the people that we elect want to help; and second, do they even care who elected them?

I believe that you will find the answers to those questions in the following video that includes George W. Bush's weekly Radio Address to the nation on September 27, 2008. Watch the video and then you decide:

Henry Lamb, a weekly commentary writer for WorldNetDaily.com had some things to say about the financial industry bailout in his column on September 27, 2008, "Soviet-style Collapse in America's future?" (see link below):

The piper must be paid. The question is whether to do it now – and let the chips fall where they may, or, to kick the can down the road and pay the piper later. The answer, of course, is to kick the can into the next generation, with another leap toward socialism. The bailout plan – whatever the particulars – is nothing short of a government takeover of the financial industry. The next president will have to sort it out and build the road toward future recovery or final disaster.

Barack Obama's incessant drumbeat about the failure of the economic policies of the last eight years is either gross ignorance or, more likely, political blame shifting. The cause of the current meltdown is clearly the Democrat's insistence upon giving federally guaranteed mortgages to people who could not afford them. Even now, Democrats insist, not on the minimum government involvement possible, but on adding all sorts of give-away ornaments on the bailout Christmas tree. Obama is also promising to take over the energy industry, the health industry, and to give tax credits and even refunds to some people with money he shamelessly takes from others. This is redistribution of wealth – pure socialism.

But Joseph Farah, in one short paragraph from his column, "Fascism on ascendacy", reveals what this bailout is really all about:
The international bailouts of the banking class are a hint of what is coming soon – a new monetary system, an end to national sovereignty, the rule of law replaced by the rule of men and the will of the people simply a matter of manipulation.
So, now you will understand just why the bailout package will come together, on the weekend - in the dead of night. They think that nobody will be watching.

Just keep the powder dry, if you know what I mean.

Bush’s Address to the Nation

By T. L. Farlow

~ Guest Columnist ~

Mr. and Mrs. American Citizen are about to get shafted by the very corrupt government that is supposed to be working for them. Instead, the government is doing their best to work against the citizens of this country. Although that is not unusual, it is significantly important now because of the vast burden that is presently being placed onto the backs of every citizen.

The President of the United States came on television and informed everyone about the importance and gravity of financial circumstances that now face our nation. Normally, during political speeches, my mind wanders a bit and I tend to filter much of what is being said. Below is what I heard our President say and my thoughts that occurred at the same time.

Bush’s Address to the Nation on September 24, 2008

Good evening. (“Good Evening Comrades.”) This is an extraordinary period for America ’s economy. (“Washington has failed miserably and we are getting ready to really stick it to you again. But be assured that this will not be the last time.”)

Over the past few weeks, many Americans have felt anxiety about their finances and their future. I understand their worry and their frustration. ("Yes, we are worried that you politicians will take everything we have.")

We’ve seen triple-digit swings in the stock market. Major financial institutions have teetered on the edge of collapse, and some have failed. As uncertainty has grown, many banks have restricted lending, credit markets have frozen, and families and businesses have found it harder to borrow money. ("And whose fault is that? Certainly not Mr. and Mrs. American Citizen!")

We’re in the midst of a serious financial crisis, and the federal government is responding with decisive action. (“Our Wall Street banking buddies are in a pickle right now, and the federal government is gonna mess it up more by taxing all citizens to pay for this mess.”)

We boosted confidence in money market mutual funds and acted to prevent major investors from intentionally driving down stocks for their own personal gain. (“We keep trying to buy our way out of this and it ain’t working.”)

Most importantly, my administration is working with Congress to address the root cause behind much of the instability in our markets. (“Most importantly, my administration is working with Congress to put the final nail in the coffin for America.”)

Financial assets related to home mortgages have lost value during the house decline, and the banks holding these assets have restricted credit. As a result, our entire economy is in danger. (“Even though the banks made some extremely bad decisions, we still like our Wall Street banking buddies more than we like you regular tax paying citizens and we are going to do whatever we can to save them, even though it is really their fault.”)

So I propose that the federal government reduce the risk posed by these troubled assets and supply urgently needed money so banks and other financial institutions can avoid collapse and resume lending. (“So, I propose that the federal government take every single penny that each of you citizens have and give it to our Wall Street banking buddies.”)

This rescue effort is not aimed at preserving any individual company or industry. It is aimed at preserving America’s overall economy. (“This illegal rescue effort is aimed at completely enslaving American citizens.”)

It will help American consumers and businesses get credit to meet their daily needs and create jobs. And it will help send a signal to markets around the world that America’s financial system is back on track. (“We are confident that we can bluff the rest of the world while really screwing up our own economy.”)

I know many Americans have questions tonight: How did we reach this point in our economy? How will the solution I propose work? And what does this mean for your financial future? ("Yeah…. Americans want to know how they will be screwed again by Washington.")

These are good questions, and they deserve clear answers. ("You bet you they do!")

First, how did our economy reach this point? ("Could it be that government policies, over the last several decades, got us into this mess?") Well, most economists agree that the problems we’re witnessing today developed over a long period of time. ("Your economists, not mine!") For more than a decade, a massive amount of money flowed into the United States from investors abroad because our country is an attractive and secure place to do business. ("Yep, for awhile investors around the world were really taken in. ")

This large influx of money to U.S. banks and financial institutions, along with low interest rates, made it easier for Americans to get credit. ("Artificially, lowered interest rates.") These developments allowed more families to borrow money for cars, and homes, and college tuition, some for the first time. (“This allowed more families to create unnatural conditions of enormous debt.”) They allowed more entrepreneurs to get loans to start new businesses and create jobs.

Unfortunately, there were also some serious negative consequences, particularly in the housing market. (“Unfortunately, the house of cards came crumbling down, particularly the bogus fiduciary tools created by Wall Street with the blessings of corrupt politicians.”) Easy credit, combined with the faulty assumption that home values would continue to rise, led to excesses and bad decisions. (“$@!+ happens!”)

Many mortgage lenders approved loans for borrowers without carefully examining their ability to pay. ("Federal government rules, crafted by greedy and corrupt politicians and bureaucrats, paved the way for these people to get unobstructed access to money.") Many borrowers took out loans larger than they could afford, assuming that they could sell or refinance their homes at a higher price later on. (“They were encouraged to borrow more money, because everyone just knew that the housing bubble would never burst.”)

Optimism about housing values also led to a boom in home construction. Eventually, the number of new houses exceeded the number of people willing to buy them. ("Here again, erroneous investments were made with no thoughts of ‘what if?’") And with supply exceeding demand, housing prices fell, and this created a problem.

Borrowers with adjustable-rate mortgages, who had been planning to sell or refinance their homes at a higher price, were stuck with homes worth less than expected, along with mortgage payments they could not afford. ("Could it be that they made a bad investment decision?")

As a result, many mortgage-holders began to default. These widespread defaults had effects far beyond the housing market. ("Oh, what a surprise!")

See, in today’s mortgage industry, home loans are often packaged together and converted into financial products called mortgage-backed securities. These securities were sold to investors around the world. ("What ever happened to buy American, invest in America?")

Many investors assumed these securities were trustworthy and asked few questions about their actual value. ("And because of their poor decisions to invest in these this affects how and why?") Two of the leading purchasers of mortgage-backed securities were Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. ("Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac consistently purchased politicians to ensure that events happening today will keep their necks off the chopping block if the house of cards they created ever came crumbling down.")

Because these companies were chartered by Congress, many believed they were guaranteed by the federal government. ("Did they read the fine print?") This allowed them to borrow enormous sums of money, fuel the market for questionable investments, and put our financial system at risk. (“So the scam worked really well.”)

The decline in the housing market set off a domino effect across our economy. When home values declined, borrowers defaulted on their mortgages, and investors holding mortgage-backed securities began to incur serious losses. ("So they pulled out their ‘ace in the hole’ and now politicians are again turning tricks for their banking buddies.")

Before long, these securities became so unreliable that they were not being bought or sold. Investment banks, such as Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, found themselves saddled with large amounts of assets they could not sell. ("If I make a bad decision, there is no one there to pick up the pieces. If an entrepreneur purchases, with no guarantees, some bad products that do not sell, he has the responsibility of losses, since he was the one taking the risk. So, why should I have to pick up the pieces for those who have practiced thievery their entire lives?") They ran out of money needed to meet their immediate obligations, and they faced imminent collapse. ("Tough Luck ….. get over it!")

Other banks found themselves in severe financial trouble. These banks began holding on to their money, and lending dried up, and the gears of the American financial system began grinding to a halt. ("Which is what happens when those greedy little ba$tards stop trusting anyone!")

With the situation becoming more precarious by the day, I faced a choice, to step in with dramatic government action or to stand back and allow the irresponsible actions of some to undermine the financial security of all.

I’m a strong believer in free enterprise, ("Liar…if so then you would not have taken such a grossly socialistic move of nationalizing financial institutions and saddling the people with the responsibility of paying for others mistakes"). so my natural instinct is to oppose government intervention. I believe companies that make bad decisions should be allowed to go out of business. ("So, why didn’t you let nature take its natural course?")

Under normal circumstances, I would have followed this course. But these are not normal circumstances. ("No they are not. Your banking buddies got into deep doodoo and now you are trying to pull their butts out of the ditch.") The market is not functioning properly. ("Never does when greed is so widespread and rampant.) There has been a widespread loss of confidence, and major sectors of America’s financial system are at risk of shutting down. ("Not my problem. I have prepared myself and my family for these contingencies. The problem is never solved by government intervention.")

The government’s top economic experts warn that, without immediate action by Congress, America could slip into a financial panic and a distressing scenario would unfold. ("First of all, I don’t believe a single word that a government economic expert has to say. Their words are always cleverly crafted to screw someone out of something.")

More banks could fail, including some in your community. The stock market would drop even more, which would reduce the value of your retirement account. ("Let it come! Not for one moment did I believe that government could actually manage some of my money, especially the vast amounts of money that was placed into Social Security accounts that I would eventually need to draw upon. Not once was I deceived into thinking that I could rely upon the generosity of government, funded and government, managed programs so that I could retire in peace. I knew long ago that I was never going to see one red cent of that money that you guys in government squandered so frivolously.") The value of your home could plummet. Foreclosures would rise dramatically. ("Easy come… easy go.")

And if you own a business or a farm, you would find it harder and more expensive to get credit. More businesses would close their doors, and millions of Americans could lose their jobs. ("Then perhaps the 50 million illegal aliens will go home????? Please, please promise me that this will happen. Americans will be much stronger after weathering such a financial storm of tremendous proportion. Perhaps, they will again have a renewed skepticism of governments and banking.")

Even if you have good credit history, it would be more difficult for you to get the loans you need to buy a car or send your children to college. ("Perhaps now, the prices will come down from their bloated and exorbitant levels to levels where the common folk can afford.") And, ultimately, our country could experience a long and painful recession.

Fellow citizens, we must not let this happen. I appreciate the work of leaders from both parties in both houses of Congress to address this problem and to make improvements to the proposal my administration sent to them. (Editor’s thought: “What? We have leaders in Congress? You mean like those Senators that lead in who received the most political contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?”)

There is a spirit of cooperation between Democrats and Republicans and between Congress and this administration. (“In other words, all government entities have banded together to rape and pillage the common citizens in massive proportions.”) In that spirit, I’ve invited Senators McCain and Obama to join congressional leaders of both parties at the White House tomorrow to help speed our discussions toward a bipartisan bill. ("...that will take about 5 full generations to be paid off.")

I know that an economic rescue package will present a tough vote for many members of Congress. It is difficult to pass a bill that commits so much of the taxpayers’ hard-earned money. ("Surprise… surprise… You may think there is more money left over out here in middle America . You are sooooo wrong, Mr. Bush. There is nothing left. You have taken it all. Now if you want to take our homes, our cars, our retirement accounts, our savings accounts, then say so. At least that would be honest of you.")

I also understand the frustration of responsible Americans who pay their mortgages on time, file their tax returns every April 15th, and are reluctant to pay the cost of excesses on Wall Street. ("Frustration? Not the right word. How about rage? How about total disgust at this impossible condition that you are trying to hang around our necks? How about displaying leadership here pal? How about you, Mr. President and all other politicians and your government bureaucrats take all of your salaries that are currently draining the hard-earned monies that have been illegally stolen from the tax-payers and you guys give everything you have and then come back to us and see if that makes a difference? How about you stop all other spending on unnecessary government programs and use that to stem the tide of this tidal wave of retribution from decades of abusive governmental waste and idiotic governmental policies?")

But given the situation we are facing, not passing a bill now would cost these Americans much more later. ("Awww… you’re just saying that to scare us into believing your lies.")

Many Americans are asking, how would a rescue plan work? ("No we are not. We are saying that it won’t work. There is no way that the government can pull this one out of the hat… It is the government after all.") After much discussion, there’s now widespread agreement on the principles such a plan would include. ("Widespread agreement among politicians, government bureaucrats and bankers who found themselves in a bind! Did you actually go out and ask how the common man feels about having his income reduced just because of your stupid banking friends made some really dumb mistakes?")

It would remove the risk posed by the troubled assets, including mortgage-backed securities, now clogging the financial system. ("And you are throwing the risks into our laps!!!!") This would free banks to resume the flow of credit to American families and businesses. (“This will free banks up to resume the thievery, once more, of American families and businesses.”)

Any rescue plan should also be designed to ensure that taxpayers are protected. ("How can you say that? I wasn’t born yesterday. I know a tax is a tax. Just how stupid do you really think we are?") It should welcome the participation of financial institutions, large and small. It should make certain that failed executives do not receive a windfall from your tax dollars. ("Can you guarantee that? But, then again, when can the government really guarantee anything?")

It should establish a bipartisan board to oversee the plan’s implementation, and it should be enacted as soon as possible. (“Open up your wallets America ! Give us all your remaining cash!”)

In close consultation with Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson ("Former CEO of Goldman Sachs"), Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke ("criminal mastermind of the Big Heist of 2008"), and SEC Chairman Chris Cox ("willing accomplice to the Big Heist of 2008"), I announced a plan on Friday. ("It’s a good thing that you gave us advance warning to pre-position ourselves and get ready for the pain that is forthcoming.")

First, the plan is big enough to solve a serious problem. ("…and big enough to sink a nation into permanent debt.") Under our proposal, the federal government would put up to $700 billion taxpayer dollars on the line to purchase troubled assets that are clogging the financial system.

In the short term, this will free up banks to resume the flow of credit to American families and businesses, and this will help our economy grow. (“In the short term, full scale greed will resume to unimpeded levels once more.”)

Second, as markets have lost confidence in mortgage-backed securities, their prices have dropped sharply, yet the value of many of these assets will likely be higher than their current price, because the vast majority of Americans will ultimately pay off their mortgages. ("…in about 30 years, this process of paying off mortgages may begin. ")

The government is the one institution with the patience and resources to buy these assets at their current low prices and hold them until markets return to normal. (“The government is the one institution that can forcefully hijack the taxpayers’ money to fund such a boondoggle.”)

And when that happens, money will flow back to the Treasury as these assets are sold, and we expect that much, if not all, of the tax dollars we invest will be paid back. (“But don’t expect that any of the citizens will get their money back. The government will certainly re-invest any monies received from this heist to fund other governmental entitlements…. if there is any left over.”)

The final question is, what does this mean for your economic future? (“DOOM!!!!! DESTRUCTION OF THE ECONOMY!!!! RECESSION!!! DEPRESSION!!!”) Well, the primary steps — purpose of the steps I’ve outlined tonight is to safeguard the financial security of American workers, and families, and small businesses. ("Not really. This is only to ensure that the bankers can get their money and the citizens will be permanently burdened with the results of their foolish and greedy criminal activities.") The federal government also continues to enforce laws and regulations protecting your money. (“The federal government continues to fashion and enact immoral and illegal laws that amount to ‘LEGAL PLUNDER’.”)

The Treasury Department recently offered government insurance for money market mutual funds. ("And now the FDIC has come to the government food trough to consume its fair share of the plundered loot… to the tune of another $150 billion.") And through the FDIC, every savings account, checking account, and certificate of deposit is insured by the federal government for up to $100,000. ("And the FDIC will guarantee that all these accounts will be refunded as stated in the fine print….. 99 YEARS!!!")

The FDIC has been in existence for 75 years, and no one has ever lost a penny on an insured deposit, and this will not change. ("…except for those who had more than the proposed levels, even though bankers usually twisted the facts to entice many citizens to store more of their money in the bank accounts.")

Once this crisis is resolved, there will be time to update our financial regulatory structures. (“This crisis will not be solved until everyone is broke. When everyone is penniless, homeless and waiting in bread lines at the nearest government run entitlement center, then and only then will this crisis be solved. Yes!!! When all citizens are fully enslaved, then the crisis will be deemed over.”) Our 21st-century global economy remains regulated largely by outdated 20th-century laws. (“Now we need new laws to more expeditiously and efficiently strip the citizens’ of their hard earned wages.”)

Recently, we’ve seen how one company can grow so large that its failure jeopardizes the entire financial system. ("‘Too big to fail’ was their ace-in-the-hole excuse to use. I say let them fail. It will serve them right.")

Earlier this year, Secretary Paulson ("former Goldman Sachs CEO and government mafia lieutenant") proposed a blueprint that would modernize our financial regulations. (“He hatched a plan to capture all the power.”) For example, the Federal Reserve would be authorized to take a closer look at the operations of companies across the financial spectrum and ensure that their practices do not threaten overall financial stability. "Big Brother is watching!")

There are other good ideas, and members of Congress should consider them. As they do, they must ensure that efforts to regulate Wall Street do not end up hampering our economy’s ability to grow. ("Once the Fed and the Treasury Dept. started orchestrating buy-outs on their nationalizing of industries, the die was cast we started down the slippery slope.")

In the long run, Americans have good reason to be confident in our economic strength. ("In the long run, Americans have good reason to distrust anything that the government does.") Despite corrections in the marketplace and instances of abuse, democratic capitalism is the best system ever devised. ("This is not democratic capitalism. This is SOCIALISM.. PURE AND SIMPLE SOCIALISM!")

It has unleashed the talents and the productivity and entrepreneurial spirit of our citizens. ("not to mention the loosing of the banking hounds to take more risky behavior knowing that they will be rewarded if they run into trouble.") It has made this country the best place in the world to invest and do business. ("As long as bad behavior is rewarded, bad behavior will continue and flourish. And it gives our economy the flexibility and resilience to absorb shocks, adjust, and bounce back. (“And it gives our economy the ability to die more readily… to die more permanently.”)

Our economy is facing a moment of great challenge, ("you bet ya it is") but we’ve overcome tough challenges before, and we will overcome this one. ("Are you sure George? Never in our history has such a burden been placed upon our society. Never in our history has such incompetence been demonstrated. Never in our history has the challenge.")

I know that Americans sometimes get discouraged by the tone in Washington and the seemingly endless partisan struggles, yet history has shown that, in times of real trial, elected officials rise to the occasion. ("Are you saying that they are really, really patriotic? Because if you are, then why do we want to march on Washington all other times with our pitchforks and baseball bats and want to chase them out of town?")

And together we will show the world once again what kind of country America is: a nation that tackles problems head on, where leaders come together to meet great tests, and where people of every background can work hard, develop their talents, and realize their dreams. ("...a nation that keeps putting bonehead, partisan, greedy and corrupt politicians back into positions of power because they are able to promise so much to so many unfortunate fools that believe that they are really going to be helped by these idiots.")

Thank you for listening. May God bless you.

Oh, Joe, gotta go

By John Kubicek

"Umm... uh.... sorry, but, ah... uh, picking a good VP part of my ticket to the White House.... well, uh.... ummm..... may have been above my pay... um, pay... ummm.... pay grade. Uh, sorry Joe, ummm... you gotta ... Uh, J-J-Joe, hang on.... call waiting thing... be right back with ya...."

After fumbling around with hitting the right button on the, uh, keypad, and after another puff of the cigarette burning up in the ashtray, Barry finally gets switched over to his call waiting thing....

"Hey, Hillary, whassup girl? Hang on a sec..." (Barry, actually hitting the right button on his cell to switch back to the previous call).... "Oh, Joe, gotta go"

(My thanks to the NSA agent that kindly forwarded the transcript from top secret phone records to me!)

The Joe Biden Gaffometer has been going off the charts lately. Is it, I don't know, but, can I say intentional? Did the ObamaNation realize the huge error that they made? Hillary supporters crossing the aisle to support McCain? Lots of questions should be asked, and have been.

Rush Limbaugh was already talking about it at the end of last week:

And the amazing thing is that Joe has kept them gaffes coming since then:

If Joe Biden was appealing a decision of the EEOC, to keep his job as the VP wanna-be, he would lose. He has already admitted that Hillary would be a more qualified candidate:

So, Mr. I'm-a-Harvard-grad-and-Community-Organizer, what do you do now? Wow, with the Biden Gaffe Machine going full speed, how are you going to spin this? And shouldn't you do something really drastic, now, as in before that Oct. 2 debate with Sarah Palin? You know darn well, don't you, that Joe will be telling Sarah that she would be a much better choice as a VP by the end of the debate? Wouldn't things be much more interesting with a debate between Shrillary and Sarah Barracuda? Wow, move over, WWE! By golly, can you imagine them on at the same time on "The View" or "Oprah"? Move over, Jerry Springer!

Okay, before I split your brain in half with all of the revelations, most that will come true... please allow me a moment to congratulate the NL Central Division Champions, the Chicago Cubs. What a year! Barry, you should have had Jim Hendry as your mentor. Maybe then you would have known how to pick the right personnel for your campaign! ... Sorry, I'm having a Bob Uecker moment... Joe Biden was not a good choice to begin with, even if the Obamanation now turns to Shrillary. It is the lack of Barry's executive experience that would scare me.

ANNOUNCEMENT

"The Blogroll For Freedom Lovers" list has gone into alphabetical order. There were so many great blogs, and for me to give favor by priority to any of them was a great disservice to the many other fantastic blogs I've added.

Please keep in mind that this is not a "leveling the playing field" strategy where it doesn't matter how good you do. I still believe in striving for excellence. This is actually an effort to allow each of the blogs listed an equal opportunity to excel or fail.

The Uphill Road to Victory

By John Kubicek

While I believe it to be entirely possible for John and Sarah to win on November 4, it won't be easy. Despite the massive infusion of energy and enthusiasm into the John McCain campaign upon his brilliant decision to pick Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, there will be much work to do. And yes, to win, our side will actually have to break a sweat.

There seems to be no doubt in my mind that the other side would seem to be winning in the way of quantities of "supporters". That of course, would be what the main stream media wants us to believe. However, there is a big difference between those that say they support the Democrat candidate, and the actual number of people that will vote, let alone, take an active role in promoting their candidate. That alone will tend to negate the results of many polls.

For the Obama camp, they seemed to have all of the energy early in the process of the primaries and caucuses, and it was necessary to defeat Hillary Clinton. Whereas in John McCain's campaign, the energy did not arrive until he picked Sarah Palin for the other half of the GOP ticket.

It was while reflecting on the campaigns, and all of the work that is done to get them set up, that I had the revelation that the energy of the campaign would be directly related to the quantity and quality of the work involved in a political campaign. And while you may be thinking that it all comes down to how good the candidates do, and how well their campaign staff does their job, it is much more than that. It will be much more than the debates or ads or sound bites or news interviews. What I found out is how much goes on at "ground level" - the grass roots - and how it may make all the difference in the end.

When I went to the "Road to Victory '08" McCain-Palin rally in Cedar Rapids a couple days ago, I saw an extraordinary example of what it took to get everything done. From the people that had to get the venue set up, security arranged (including the help of the TSA), down to the volunteers that helped with parking, and arranging the vendors for shuttle transportation and everything else, it amounted to an enormous effort from many people.

Yes, just having this one rally here in Cedar Rapids took a lot of effort. And to think, they are doing this stuff every day! That takes a massive amount of work to be able to manage all the logistics and services needed to pull off these campaign events. The effort is directly related to the passion derived from the candidate's ability to motivate their troops.

What brought me to understand the huge amount of effort by so many people was when I went on a mission to cover this event in this blog, with video included. Not to mention the technical difficulties with software in order to produce a video from the rally, I also went through some great physical adversities, such as standing for more than three hours, holding a camera above my head to take pictures and videos, walking a couple miles back to my car, a good sunburn on my scalp during that walk, etc. etc., it was hard work. I gained a lot of respect for my fellow columnists, journalists, bloggers; people that cover these things on a daily basis.

As an example, let me tell you, I spent a few days just to put this one video together:

In getting a blog and a video about the rally produced, I had many challenges. It took me three days since the rally. But yet, there are people that can get it all done in .... what, about three hours? Three minutes? Of course, in my case, it's just me trying to put all of this together this weekend. Other news distribution outlets have hundreds, if not thousands, of people involved. And then, I've seen individual bloggers that have the equipment needed (like a laptop with a wireless internet connection), and can actually get out their blogs and photos in must minutes, even while at the event; almost in real-time.

While I digress, you may be asking yourself what it has to do with this election, with the McCain-Palin rally I went out to cover on Thursday. I had to ask myself that, so don't feel bad, but I have the answer. I now know, or at least understand, the amount of effort it takes - whether it is in arranging a political rally, or just being one of the bloggers out here. And the key word is, "EFFORT".

The key to Victory in '08 for either side of the aisle, or anyone else that is in the fray, will depend on effort. And that vital ingredient - "EFFORT" - is totally dependent on the amount of energy that the campaigns can generate. Whether it is the candidate, their campaign managers, local volunteers, or even the bloggers such as myself here in Iowa, when you come right down to it, the whole process rests on which side is the most energized. That is going to be the only way to get uphill on the road to victory.

Road to Victory Rally Comes to Cedar Rapids

By John Kubicek

I was hanging out with my brother and our Mom and Dad tonight, and they just happened to mention that John McCain and Sarah Palin were going to be in Cedar Rapids on Thursday morning! I may not have known in time since I don't get the local newspaper (bird cage liner), except I did also find an email from the McCain-Palin's Iowa Team when I got home tonight.

I quickly got online at the John McCain site tonight and have my ticket reserved.

You can get the information about this event here.

Hey, you think I should take my digital camera? Duh! It takes video, too! Maybe by Thursday afternoon, there will be some new pics and/or video for you all to check out here!

See, there really IS a big advantage to living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We're always getting great campaign stops here. In October 2004, I was actually asked to be a greeter when George W. Bush and First Lady Laura arrived in Cedar Rapids for a rally. Yes! I met them as them got off of Air Force One, and rode in the motorcade down to the Five Seasons Center. Regardless of what anyone thinks of President Bush, it was a great honor that I will never forget. Not that many people ever get that type of opportunity to meet a sitting President and his wife, face to face.

So, I'm looking forward to the McCain-Palin Victory Rally this coming Thursday morning. Both my sister and brother will be there, too. We'll have fun being together for this time. Oh, and I wonder if they were just jealous that I got to meet President Bush.... and they are looking for their 2 seconds of fame to shake John or Sarah's hand? Hey, I'm just saying.... Maybe I should pull in some favors and give them that opportunity. You think?

Hey, look, on a serious note, I need to say something. Many of my very good friends are not in favor of McCain, even with the addition of Sarah Palin to the team. There are the things like McCain crossing the aisle just a few too many times. That's an issue for many of us, including me! It was why I opposed John McCain as being the Republican nominee for President. I mean, heck, just the thought that he wanted amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants? But there are two points that I consider to be the deal maker right now, FOR John McCain.

  1. This country can not survive if Barack Hussein Obama becomes President. Enough said.
  2. I highly doubt John McCain will serve more than one term. I'd love to see Sarah Palin in the position to run for President in 2012. While John McCain may not be the ideal President, Sarah could be in four years. And I highly doubt that McCain would want to do anything that would ruin her chances, not if he really wants the Republican Party to keep the White House four years from now.
That's my hope at this time. And I certainly believe that there is no chance for a 3rd party to win an election.... not in my life time. We have a choice to make. Voting for a 3rd party candidate, or writing in somebody for President will most likely give us an Obamanation. We can NOT allow that to happen. Not if you don't want America to become Socialist, which it's already heading for.

And finally, I have to say that if we do allow Obama to win, we may NEVER get another chance to make the right decision. It is no doubt a very difficult decision for us to make. If a McCain administration ends up being a failure, I'll just give you my address, and you can come over and slap me on the side of the head. But Obama scares me enough that I'm willing to take the risk.

Palin-Mania Overtakes the Republican Party

By T. L. Farlow

Will the RNC finally learn their lesson? How many times does it take for the Republican Party to get it through their thick skulls that Conservatism is the only game in town that can win?

Let’s back up a bit and see just what we are talking about here.

All during the last eighteen months, we have endured a complete lack of leadership, an absolute dearth of Conservative spirit in this election race. We have had to listen to the likes of the ex-Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, an elite, liberal Republican who has shown he cannot govern with Conservatism. We all cringed when we were told that the equally liberal Mayor Giuliani was being heralded as the presumptive Republican leader, but thankfully, that did not last long. We could not escape the ranting of the Rev. Huckabee, knowing that he leaned far to the left and did not have the wherewithal to battle the likes of deliriously liberal Democrats that infest Washington.

We even were told to accept the presumptive nominee John ‘Amnesty’ McCain. I for one am turned off by this man, for I have seen who he really is. I have had to endure the ultra-liberal ‘maverick’ Republican who does not care for the rule of law. He has promised to allow all the law-breaking illegal aliens the opportunity to be made automatic citizens of our country. He has promised and he has shown his penchant to go over to the enemy camp and make compromises. This crossing activity only further erodes the liberties and rights of citizens on this country.

Juan McCain, the maverick Arizona senator, has demonstrated his ability to throw away proven Conservative platforms to bring about change that will inevitably ruin our country.

It was a dark and dreary summer of hopelessness and despair that many of us tolerated, with no prospect of Conservatism reemerging. We were continually told that Conservatism was dead, never to return; not only by Democrats, but Republicans alike. Moderates and liberals abound in this day and age of government and nothing will engage the loyal Conservative base as a Reaganesque, Conservative Republican.

We were told that change and a movement towards the left, a movement towards conciliation, is what will ensure victory. We saw far too many Republicans fail in the last general election with this attitude. The liberal Democrats ran roughshod over the poorly prepared Republicans who were searching for moderation and leaning left. We are witnessing and experiencing the results of this erroneous tack, with additional liberties lost, rampant out of control spending, liberal policies gaining a stronghold and the moral fabric being shredded by the homosexual mafia, by the immensely powerful teachers unions that hammer their liberalism into the minds of the young, by the ultra-liberal judicial activism that has destroyed the rule of law and the Constitution and by the Republican bureaucratic errors in judgment that have led us to the gate of the ultimate financial destruction of our nation and perhaps the world.

Yes, we have endured, with no hope on the horizon. With lowly hearts we continued to work at our jobs each and every day, worrying about the impending tax increases that will result with another Democrat victory and one which we know we cannot bear. We, as a nation, have suffered a deficiency of Conservatism. Not since the days of Reagan, have we seen the light that shines so brightly, that effortlessly slashes through the darkness, gloominess and despair of liberalism, scattering the devilish agents of communism, Marxism and socialism back under the shadows of the rocks from whence they came.

But now, for all those who had lost heart, there appears to be a new day beginning with a brightness that brings hope to all those in desolation, to all those who anguished over the loss of the spirit of Conservatism. We now have a Mom, a ferocious hockey Mom from Alaska who is validating Conservatism as a vehicle of change, certifying that Conservatism is not dead. She has single-handedly pushed back the veil, exposing to the entire world that we can have hope again, that we can smile once more knowing that there are those who will stand and fight for us in the political arena, choosing to do the right thing, rather than that which is politically expedient. We have found someone who understands Conservatism and will not shrink from the task when confronted with overwhelming adversity.

We have seen our Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, former Mayor and former council member of Wasilla, Alaska. We have seen and heard Sarah Palin energize the long forgotten and discarded Conservative base as Vice-Presidential Candidate for the Republican Party and one who is quite capable of being President Palin, given the right circumstances. I would vote for Palin as Vice-President or even as President without thinking twice about it. What a breath of fresh air she has brought to the campaign!

Now, most of us Conservatives still have a problem. John McCain is still the same old liberal maverick he always has been. He has not changed one iota, which presents the most delicate conundrum. Do we pull the lever for Juan, Mister Amnesty, Mister crossing the aisle to the other side, Mister liberal Republican, voluntarily choosing to forget his record? Do we allow this maverick, who in and of himself could not bring this base to its feet? Do we elect John McCain just because he has chosen the most Conservative and most excellent Sarah Palin?

It was only two weeks ago that we were listening to the MSM pundits expound on the imminent choice of Joe Lieberman as his Vice-President. It was only two weeks ago that John McCain was headed into a convention that the Republicans felt as a necessary evil to put behind them, thinking perhaps next time we could field a proper candidate.

Perhaps there are those out there that can justify casting the vote for McCain, when the opposing candidate offers certain doom. I must continue to search my inner self to rationalize this action, one which goes against the very principles of Conservatism.

Is it that McCain has changed? I see no evidence of this. Has he allowed Sarah Palin to bring the base to him? Most definitely! Will the fired up base enjoy the policies that he is expected to institute? It is doubtful!

McCain has virtually suspended his normal talk of liberal policies that were his trademark. He has cloaked himself in Republicanism to find party consensus. John McCain will eventually emerge and become himself again.

In the meantime, what are we to do?

We want to pull the straight ticket lever when we enter the voting booth, but can we do that with this particular candidate? I am ‘torn between two choices’ with one Conservative Vice-Presidential candidate which will not happen unless I vote for the one cloaked Republican President as well.

My conscience will suffer greatly in the next month or so until I enter the booth and I am certain that I am not alone.
