Last Week on TheREALjohnny2k - 12/14 through 12/20/09

By John Kubicek

Updated December 23, 2009. I realized today, when I read the original version, it was incomplete, and barely comprehensible. I must have been tired and in a hurry to get it posted. I apologize to my readers, and I hope this edition will be much better!!

Earlier today, I read a great piece by Barbara Simpson, "2010, here I come." She writes:
I've been thinking about my resolutions for 2010, and I've decided this year I will make some and live up to them! It's been a long time. I've decided to be more courageous.

Part of the reason is that I've seen what's happened to my country, and I don't like it. I've seen what the silent censorship of political correctness has created, and I don't like it. I've seen that young people simply don't know about our greatness and how we attained that – not because they're dumb but because they deliberately have not been taught.
Barbara has it so right! I've made a resolution, too, for the same reason. There are changes that I've been working on that I want to share with you today.

It was just ten years ago that I came up with the brilliant idea to start my own website, johnny2k.com. The website went online on January 3, 2000, I believe. My original theme was helping people work from home, using the internet. I fully expected to become a dotcom entrepreneur millionaire within months. I put it all on the line. And then, three months later, we saw the beginning of the dotcom fallout. Al Gore's "invention" wasn't quite working out so well for many dotcom investors, and the bubble burst. It was at that time that I saw the writing on the wall, and my dream of a large financial gain was also vaporized.

Well, fortunately, I've found a greater purpose along the way. Like Barbara Simpson, I haven't liked what I'm seeing, especially in the last 11 months since The One has taken office. So, using the skills that I've developed over the last ten years, it will be my purpose to make sure that the "sheople" are better informed. And on the other side of the coin, I realized that there are many of my fellow patriots that are much better equipped than I when it comes to the ability to adequately inform the masses. So what do I do? I have decided to specialize in finding ways to get more of you exposed to the vast resources now available on the web that just may help us preserve our freedom.

So, what could be a better time to make a transformation, while we see the new decade arrive? The new johnny2k.com will be focused on that one goal, to make sure that you are aware of what is facing America. I will use all of my abilities to show that we are becoming dangerously close to totally losing any freedom that we've enjoyed for the last two centuries. While I am still allowed, I will do all I can to make sure that you are informed of how our freedoms are being diluted.

How much can I do? Over two and a quarter million views of my youtube videos that I've posted in the last three years told me that I may be able to HELP make a difference. Close to 50,000 views of my various forum posts and blogs may mean that there are others out there that also have a desire to understand what is going on. I've been dedicating myself to providing you with information that will help to connect all of the dots. I plan to continue that mission in the next decade, for as long as I'm allowed.

On that note, please allow me to present the following videos to you, even if I'm just preaching to the choir.

December 14, 2009 - Mark Ingram of 'Bama: Heisman Trophy Winner - He knows who to give the credit to!

Ain't it great! Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram knows who to give the credit to: God, family, and team! I am very happy for him!

December 14, 2009 - "I'm in command. Just follow my lead." Do we have a choice?

In a preview of the 2010 edition of "24", Jack Bauer says, "I'm in command. Just follow my lead." Well, that sounds familiar, doesn't it? What a way for them to tell us that some fringe-group tree-huggers are going to be running the coming One World Government, for our own good, of course.

December 17, 2009 - Michelle Malkin on Fox and Friends - Dec. 17, 2009

Steve, Gretchen and Brian talk to Michelle Malkin about a variety of topics.

They start out discussing the health care reform legislation, where Senator Tom Coburn's use of procedures to force the Bernie Sanders Amendment to be read, which results in the amendment being withdrawn.

The next subject to come up is how Ben Bernanke could end up being the Time Magazine Person of the Year. That was pretty weird, as Michelle will explain.

It will keep getting even more outrageous, though. The Govenator takes on Sarah Palin on the climate (apparently he hadn't heard about Climategate)... The climax is what somebody wants to do, like legalizing all illegal immigrants.

December 18, 2009 - Too much information online? A mom tweets right after her son drowns in pool.

A mom has a strange way of reacting after her son his found at the bottom of their swimming pool. She not only twitters about that a half hour after he is found, but then again right after he is pronounced dead.

Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, Chairman of Columnbia Univ. Psychiatry Dept. discusses the way society is headed because of the social media, and what it may mean that people share so much proprietary information about their lives online.

December 19, 2009 - Just enjoy Andrea Bocelli singing White Christmas (while our country goes down the tubes)

I had so many mixed feelings today. While I wanted to start enjoying the Christmas holiday season, I was finding out that Sen. Ben Nelson (Democrat) of Nebraska decided to go with the Senate version of Health Care Reform, whatever that is (because we haven't seen it yet!). It was very depressing. I have that feeling that WE the People LOST.

December 19, 2009 - The 12 Days before Christmas by the Kenosha WI Police Dept.

Hey, is it just me, or is it Christmas? I don't want JUST a white Christmas, but also one that is very Merry for all of you Santa Claus fans like me! Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

December 20, 2009 - GOOOH Tim Cox! Tim is the founder of GOOOH - Get Out Of Our House

This is about defeating all incumbents in the House of Representatives. Is that really a good idea? You decide.

December 20, 2009 - December 20, 2009 - John McCain on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace - Part 1

This is a time when to use a football analogy, the Republicans - and We the People - are backed up on their own goal line.

December 20, 2009 - December 20, 2009 - John McCain on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace - Part 2

(Again, I repeat...) This is a time when to use a football analogy, the Republicans - and We the People - are backed up on their own goal line.

FAVORITE OF THE WEEK:

From PatrioticToDaBone: December 22, 2007 - Ronald Reagan Christmas address (12/23/81)
In a world of political correctness and Christmas culture wars, Reagan's national address is almost unbelievable! It is a breath of fresh Christmas air! What happened to the politicians like him who are not afraid to hold fast to the Christian faith despite what others think or say about their Christmas beleifs? God help us by sending more like him back into our country! The challenge: will you speak like this the next time you are given opportunity to speak about your faith? A Change I Can Believe In

By John Kubicek

A Change I Can Believe In: Glenn Beck is being added to the Fox News Network lineup starting in January 2009.

On his very first appearance on the curved couch on Fox & Friends, he makes a great point about what Sarah Palin had to go through with her McCain campaign "handlers." Yeah, good job, McCain campaign. No wonder why Sarah Palin went "rogue", which started at about the time when "Joe the Plumber" appeared on the scene. Here is the first segment:

Before I start talking about some more serious stuff, let me first point out an observation that Glenn made towards the end of the above video. Glenn, as a husband, understood the "look" that Todd Palin was giving John McCain during the concession speech. Well, could it be that Todd had by chance seen this following video?

Getting to know you - From: jedreport

In light of what I just heard while working on this, straight out of the mouth of Glenn Beck while doing his morning show, not one thing I wrote above really makes any difference now. What I just heard was a man that was not afraid to share his Love for the Lord on the air. Well, add that to the fact that somebody commented on the first video, saying that CNN was cancelling Glenn's contract, and that was why he was going to Fox.

Hey, maybe now we will know why CNN cancelled his contract; they were afraid - very afraid - to have a true believer in their line up!

I hand it to Roger Ailes and Fox News Channel. I am sure they knew where Glenn stands. They had to know. Glenn's book, "The Christmas Sweater," is now on the shelves. It's a novel, but I am sure it is as revealing of Glenn's beliefs as "Dreams of My Father" was of Barack Obama... only from a whole different point of view.

Yes, this morning, Glenn was talking about emails he's received about "The Christmas Sweater," and I heard his voice break up... not because of radio static... No, I heard Glenn have a good and well deserved "choke up" moment. I was right there with him. Me, too, Glenn.

When the "Fairness Doctrine" goes back into affect, I guess that maybe Roger Ailes will have to go ahead and hire ALL of the great talk radio hosts, and then tell the FCC to ... uh, never mind. But, you get the drift? Apparently, TV networks can put on what ever biased news that they want to - fair and balanced is obviously not a requirement like on radio networks.

Let's go another step further, just to keep the news balanced. Fox News Channel needs to have a segment at least once a week with Sarah Palin, as a Fox News contributor... No, wait. Not just one segment a week, but as many as they can on every one of the shows in the Fox News line up! (I wonder, though, if Huckabee would go for that idea? Hey, Huck! Think future Cabinet post!!)

Glenn Beck, on Fox News Channel, that is a change I CAN BELIEVE IN! Will Rush be next?

Obama's Worst Nightmare! Know what it is?

By John Kubicek

There is a good chance that Barack Obama has nightmares, night after night. As the election gets close, he's got to be having those kind of nights where he just wants to wake up. And in the meantime, Americans ARE waking up, which is why Barack is having those nightmares.

There are a couple great Americans that have recently woken up to smell the coffee. There's one in particular that must have gone around shaking the rest of us awake, and wiping the sandman's residue from our eyes. The voice of "Joe the Plumber" suddenly came out loud and clear. People heard the call. And despite the fact that the Obama campaign tried to clamp down on the press, their efforts didn't quite muffle the voice of Samuel J. "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher, somebody else caught on.

That's right. There was somebody else that was new on "the scene," somebody that had to wait patiently in the wings. Suddenly, that person, a Governor, a woman, began speaking up. And what this "obscure" Veep candidate did was to fire up the real base of the party to defeat the Obamanation:

And suddenly, the inspiration to keep on keeping on seemed to spread. Yes, a hug really helps now and then!

Well, inspiration seems to be contagious! Have you seen anything like this in the McCain campaign?

Okay, so I am sufficiently fired up. Yes, first there was Governor Sarah Palin and Todd Palin and the family; then, on the scene comes "Joe the Plumber". Until the "Joe the Plumber question, the Obama 'Spread the wealth' answer", the GOP was trying to hold Sarah back. Suddenly, though, the fuse was lit. One guy, an obscure American that was just trying to mind his own life, got things started. Next thing he knows, he's in the spotlight, and then he's being investigated.

Have you wondered why?

There is somebody that is very afraid that he could still lose the election. That person is doing all he can to silence this story, but it is of no avail. He feels the "heat". Though the pundits would say it was too late, there are those of us that are just plain fired up. You betcha!

Really, We Weren't Supposed to Know

By John Kubicek

Well... We never know when our last moments on this earth will be. And what if you had something on your heart that you wanted to tell people, but your time came before you had the opportunity, or before you took advantage of having an opportunity?

And what if you knew that if you stuck your neck out, it could end up being very unpopular with those that have power? I am afraid to say, but that could the situation I am in today. Whether it happens 15 minutes after I have posted this to the world venue of the internet, or possibly soon after the inauguration of the next President on January 20. 2009, I have to accept the possibility that those black Suburbans will roll up my driveway, to take me away to who knows where or what.

So, here it goes...

From MSNBC:

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for president on Sunday, criticizing his own Republican Party for what he called its narrow focus on irrelevant personal attacks over a serious approach to challenges he called unprecedented.
First of all, the "attacks" are neither irrelevant or unwarranted. The truth is, the information about Barack Hussein Obama is not an attack, but just the facts. However, the problem is, the McCain campaign can not get out all of the facts in a campaign speech, a debate, or in a TV news interview. If they were going to get out ALL of the facts in one sitting, they'd end up sounding like an Alan Keyes speech, and they would lose the majority of the American voters for just the reason that many people would be unable to assemble all of the information, especially in one burst. Anything beyond a half an hour is far beyond the attention span of the "average" American.

To be honest with you, most of the Obama "attacks" are not actually coming from the McCain campaign. Well, not directly. Do you remember those rallies where John McCain tried to stress that we needed to "respect" his opponent? Do ya remember that? Well, if Colin Powell is criticizing the McCain campaign for "personal attacks," what would he say about something like this that I found on youtube.com today?

Oh, you think that is not all that bad? Well, here is one that will definitely show you just how far the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" will go:

Okay, just wait a minute, before you start blasting me with hate-mail, please allow me to explain the rationale of this particular composition. On the one hand, we have the people that express their views that Obama is pure evil, and many people in the "middle" tend to think it is way over the top. But on the other hand, we have the McCain campaign seeming to not want to "offend" or "disrespect" Obama, almost to the degree that Republicans were going nuts because they felt he wasn't saying what is necessary.

But, isn't that really the whole problem? I spent the last few days thinking about it. In fact, I wanted to blog about some of my other ideas about how to not just focus on the Obama negatives, but also show what a great team McCain/Palin could be. And I had some great things to say about how "Joe the Plumber" needed to be our inspiration! Really, it was all good stuff. Well, my good intentions were totally snuffed by various technical difficulties. That happens.

Hey, maybe I did get one good video that sheds a very positive light on the alternative to the ObamaNation! This is great stuff:

Yes, that's the Sarah we love. It's not all about Obama, but what we should be expecting from our representatives and the CEO of the USA.

That's right, I have "suckered" you into watching the above video. It is because I really DO know that it's guys like "Joe the Plumber", you, me... and Sarah Palin, the one from the unknown country... from out of nowhere... You know where that could go, right? Of course you do.

And here I go, into the part of this discourse that may just bury me. It seems that I've been seeing a scenario where people get to choose between leaders, and it is actually a spiritual war. You will soon need to make the choice of which side you are going to back. The role you will play in these times will come down to who you vote for. You better be very prepared to accept the ultimate consequences of your decision.

The ACORN Connection (that few know about)

By John Kubicek

To my friends within the "blogosphere", the mention of ACORN has been widespread for quite some time now. And to those of us "news junkies" that watch such networks as the Fox News Channel, we've been hearing about ACORN, literally on a daily basis, and much of the news is alarming. First, it was ACORN's influence on the economic crisis where mortgage loans had gone into affirmative action mode. And now, the emphasis has been on the ACORN effort to register new voters in ways that may taint the integrity of the election of our next President this year. I'll be offering evidence of that effort later in this column, but first, allow me to explain what ACORN is.

Everybody has heard of ACORN, right? Wrong! In my own independent poll, when asking my friends and family if they know about it, the answer has usually been a blank stare or silence on a phone call. Will you forgive me if I say what the normal reaction is? Many of the people I have asked have no clue what ACORN is!

I need to digress for a moment. In recent days, the McCain/Palin campaign has been mentioning the connection that Barack Hussein Obama has (oh, sorry, I mean that he "had") with the "domestic terrorists" - William "Bill" Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn. (And if you don't know about that part of this story, you've been living in a cave!) What many people don't know at this time, as is apparent from my personal interviews, is that the Bill Ayers connection is just the tip of the iceberg.

Now we know why the McCain/Palin campaign hasn't been talking about the ACORN connection with Barack Obama. Not enough people watch Fox News, or listen to Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, or many other radio talk show hosts, and they don't read the blogs. Simply said, the SHEEPLE are clueless.

So, what is ACORN? Allow me to have Hal Lindsey explain it as he did so well in a recent column:

The most underreported story of this election season is the Association of Community Organizers For Reform Now, known by its acronym, ACORN.

ACORN grew out of what wins the prize hands-down for one of the silliest and most destructive advocacy groups America has ever known – the National Welfare Rights Organization.

Founded by George Wiley, the NWRO became an army of single minority mothers whom he sent out to disrupt welfare offices through sit-ins and demonstrations demanding an end to oppressive eligibility restrictions. His aim was to so flood welfare offices as to cause the system to burst, creating a crisis he hoped would correct America's "unjust capitalist society." From 1965 to 1974, the nation's welfare rolls more than doubled to 10.3 million during generally good economic times. Clearly, it was a winning tactic.

One of ACORN's later tactics was to flood banks and mortgage companies the same way, insisting that they do away with those pesky mortgage eligibility requirements. ACORN was among those most responsible for the failure of the mortgage market and, astonishingly, until some sharp-eyed lawmaker noticed and stripped them out, ACORN was among those named as bailout recipients.

So, what does ACORN have to do with Barack Obama? I'll have Henry Lamb, from a column he wrote, "The 'change' Obama brings," jump in here to explain:

The centerpiece of Barack Obama's campaign is "change." His primary qualification for the office he seeks is his experience as a "community organizer," a state senator for eight years, and a U.S. senator since 2004. To see just what changes Obama wants to bring to the country it is reasonable to look at the values he has demonstrated and the causes he has pursued during his professional career.

Obama's community organizing experience began in 1985 in Chicago. He chose to work for ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). A review of ACORN's Peoples Platform reveals much about Obama's ideology. The ACORN platform is remarkably similar to the Socialist Party USA platform. Obama's work as a community organizer has won him endorsements from ACORN, from socialists and from communists.

Henry Lamb, weekly columnist for WorldNetDaily.com, continues in the column mentioned above:

Obama's Chicago community organizing efforts took him from the housing projects to the churches. He obviously liked the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's brand of "Liberation Theology," which casts minorities as victims that must be liberated. This ideology squared perfectly with ACORN's vision of the poor. For more than 20 years, Obama worshiped at the feet of the preacher whose most famous sermons called on God to "damn" America.

Obama's path to government also led him through various foundations, such as the Woods Fund, where he served along with Bill Ayers. Together, they were able to funnel significant funding to ACORN, to Jeremiah Wright's church and other similar groups. Between 1992 and 1995, ACORN received $1,493,000 from the Campaign for Human Development, a Catholic charities organization, according to a report for Catholic bishops prepared by the Wanderer Forum Foundation.

For further information, I recommend that you check out the video on youtube.com that Henry Lamb refers to, which was longer than I wanted to use for this piece: Obama, Acorn, And Election Fraud (9:26)

In the last five days, I added four videos to my youtube channel that discuss allegations of voter fraud, and guess who is at the center of the storm: ACORN. Now, here is the latest one that I added, where John Kasich, former Congressman from Ohio, joins Bill O'Reilly (Oct. 13, 2008):

Obama's ACORN connection is a vastly under-reported story in the mainstream media. Even though some news sources have now begun discussing the voter fraud allegations concerning ACORN, you will find any mention of Barack Obama's connection to ACORN to be very scarce. This may be the reason why the McCain/Palin campaign isn't talking about it at the rallies. Sure, they mention Bill Ayers and the fact that Ayers was a domestic terrorist, and is still unrepentant. However, to try to explain all of the evidence of Obama's association with ACORN has been off the table, and there are some obvious reasons for that, one being that very few people even know what ACORN is (until now).

Now, in the McCain campaign, Obama's ACORN connection has slipped completely under the radar, and there are some reasons that are not clearly self explanatory. So, let me just wrap this up with what columnist James Simpson says in the American Thinker on September 28, 2008:
Yet, no one to my knowledge has yet connected all the dots between Barack Obama and the Radical Left. When seen together, the influences on Obama's life comprise a who's who of the radical leftist movement, and it becomes painfully apparent that not only is Obama a willing participant in that movement, he has spent most of his adult life deeply immersed in it.

For the Children: It should be an easy decision

By John Kubicek

Before I start on my rant today, you need to see the following video:

After watching the above video, I will find it easy to vote AGAINST Obama. I may have done that anyway by voting for a 3rd Party candidate, except for the fact that John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. Connecting the dots to my support for McCain/Palin should now be easy.

The Perfect October Surprise

By John Kubicek

Shouldn't we have all known that there would be an "October Surprise"?

Had it been a terrorist attack, either bigger or smaller than September 11, 2001, do you have any doubt who would be winning in the polls? Would there not have been a gigantic John McCain landslide? No doubt.

But now, we have this economic collapse. All the people that have been working hard, saving, doing what needed to be done in order to have a comfortable retirement, will soon be toast.

There is something very strange about what has happened that is giving me nightmares - you know, like my "Discombobulated Dreams". What is so sad is that the very politicians that caused the financial havoc beyond anything we have seen since the Great Depression in the 1930's, are going to be the politicians that will benefit the most in the polls 27 days from now.

Of course, I'll be accused of utilizing the "fear factor" in my support for the GOP candidate, John McCain. But, I think I've figured this whole thing out, and I need to share these thoughts with you today.

While we watch the economy crumble around us, we will get that helpless feeling. In many cases, it will be the people that worked their whole lives to make it to retirement, to get their kids through college, giving their hard-earned dollars to help out the poor, their own kids, the people that live in countries that live horribly cruddy lives in poverty, the tithing to their churches to help out the various missions... Well, you know, those of us that cling to our Bibles, our guns, and most importantly, for many of us - Our God - will be the ones that are going to be hurt the most. And meanwhile, those that sit around playing on their PlayStations, or AIG executives that go to Vegas and get their manicures on government bailout monies, they will have their savior, the government.

So, what a perfect time to create the situation where only the government can assist them in the times of trouble. The annointed one, the Obamessiah; they will have their candidate that will come to the rescue. It seems to me that Obama and the Democrats have their perfect October Surprise. It was what got Franklin D. Roosevelt elected in 1932. Nothing like extreme economic hardship to get people to accept whatever has to be done. Nothing like a promise of "Change" and "Hope" in these times. If you can't make it on your own, if you aren't perseverent enough to make it through hard times, you have the government there for you. They'll bail you out, right?

Well, no, they won't.... but they don't want you to know that. They will use the children - those indoctrinated by the various liberal groups out there - to keep you feeling guilty if you have made it on your own. While the really wealthy people keep on getting their backs scratched in those wonderful Vegas spas, all will be well as long as you don't expect anything but the crumbs that are left over.

A week ago, Mark DeRosa of the Chicago Cubs got the series rolling with a homerun, giving the Cubs a two-run lead over the Dodgers in the first game of the NLDS. That equates to the great choice of John McCain getting Sarah Palin to be his running mate. From there, the Cubs squandered opportunity after opportunity with baserunners in scoring position. And, John McCain must not make the same mistake. Take a swing or two, McCain! Our FREEDOM is depending on you to at least take a hack or two. McCain needs to quit watching the hanging curve balls that could be hit out of the park.

Strike one, strike two... Hey, same feeling I had last Saturday night. Bottom of the ninth... two outs, no balls and two strikes. McCain, you have runners in scoring position. Sarah Palin is waiting on third base, ready to make a run for the plate. You have guys and gals out here filling the other bases, too, trying to make a difference. We're the fans. We're the ones that know that it's all coming down to crunch time. Make a real effort, give them the October Surprise that keeps us in the game, at least for four more years!

The Uphill Road to Victory

By John Kubicek

While I believe it to be entirely possible for John and Sarah to win on November 4, it won't be easy. Despite the massive infusion of energy and enthusiasm into the John McCain campaign upon his brilliant decision to pick Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, there will be much work to do. And yes, to win, our side will actually have to break a sweat.

There seems to be no doubt in my mind that the other side would seem to be winning in the way of quantities of "supporters". That of course, would be what the main stream media wants us to believe. However, there is a big difference between those that say they support the Democrat candidate, and the actual number of people that will vote, let alone, take an active role in promoting their candidate. That alone will tend to negate the results of many polls.

For the Obama camp, they seemed to have all of the energy early in the process of the primaries and caucuses, and it was necessary to defeat Hillary Clinton. Whereas in John McCain's campaign, the energy did not arrive until he picked Sarah Palin for the other half of the GOP ticket.

It was while reflecting on the campaigns, and all of the work that is done to get them set up, that I had the revelation that the energy of the campaign would be directly related to the quantity and quality of the work involved in a political campaign. And while you may be thinking that it all comes down to how good the candidates do, and how well their campaign staff does their job, it is much more than that. It will be much more than the debates or ads or sound bites or news interviews. What I found out is how much goes on at "ground level" - the grass roots - and how it may make all the difference in the end.

When I went to the "Road to Victory '08" McCain-Palin rally in Cedar Rapids a couple days ago, I saw an extraordinary example of what it took to get everything done. From the people that had to get the venue set up, security arranged (including the help of the TSA), down to the volunteers that helped with parking, and arranging the vendors for shuttle transportation and everything else, it amounted to an enormous effort from many people.

Yes, just having this one rally here in Cedar Rapids took a lot of effort. And to think, they are doing this stuff every day! That takes a massive amount of work to be able to manage all the logistics and services needed to pull off these campaign events. The effort is directly related to the passion derived from the candidate's ability to motivate their troops.

What brought me to understand the huge amount of effort by so many people was when I went on a mission to cover this event in this blog, with video included. Not to mention the technical difficulties with software in order to produce a video from the rally, I also went through some great physical adversities, such as standing for more than three hours, holding a camera above my head to take pictures and videos, walking a couple miles back to my car, a good sunburn on my scalp during that walk, etc. etc., it was hard work. I gained a lot of respect for my fellow columnists, journalists, bloggers; people that cover these things on a daily basis.

As an example, let me tell you, I spent a few days just to put this one video together:

In getting a blog and a video about the rally produced, I had many challenges. It took me three days since the rally. But yet, there are people that can get it all done in .... what, about three hours? Three minutes? Of course, in my case, it's just me trying to put all of this together this weekend. Other news distribution outlets have hundreds, if not thousands, of people involved. And then, I've seen individual bloggers that have the equipment needed (like a laptop with a wireless internet connection), and can actually get out their blogs and photos in must minutes, even while at the event; almost in real-time.

While I digress, you may be asking yourself what it has to do with this election, with the McCain-Palin rally I went out to cover on Thursday. I had to ask myself that, so don't feel bad, but I have the answer. I now know, or at least understand, the amount of effort it takes - whether it is in arranging a political rally, or just being one of the bloggers out here. And the key word is, "EFFORT".

The key to Victory in '08 for either side of the aisle, or anyone else that is in the fray, will depend on effort. And that vital ingredient - "EFFORT" - is totally dependent on the amount of energy that the campaigns can generate. Whether it is the candidate, their campaign managers, local volunteers, or even the bloggers such as myself here in Iowa, when you come right down to it, the whole process rests on which side is the most energized. That is going to be the only way to get uphill on the road to victory.

Road to Victory Rally Comes to Cedar Rapids

By John Kubicek

I was hanging out with my brother and our Mom and Dad tonight, and they just happened to mention that John McCain and Sarah Palin were going to be in Cedar Rapids on Thursday morning! I may not have known in time since I don't get the local newspaper (bird cage liner), except I did also find an email from the McCain-Palin's Iowa Team when I got home tonight.

I quickly got online at the John McCain site tonight and have my ticket reserved.

You can get the information about this event here.

Hey, you think I should take my digital camera? Duh! It takes video, too! Maybe by Thursday afternoon, there will be some new pics and/or video for you all to check out here!

See, there really IS a big advantage to living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We're always getting great campaign stops here. In October 2004, I was actually asked to be a greeter when George W. Bush and First Lady Laura arrived in Cedar Rapids for a rally. Yes! I met them as them got off of Air Force One, and rode in the motorcade down to the Five Seasons Center. Regardless of what anyone thinks of President Bush, it was a great honor that I will never forget. Not that many people ever get that type of opportunity to meet a sitting President and his wife, face to face.

So, I'm looking forward to the McCain-Palin Victory Rally this coming Thursday morning. Both my sister and brother will be there, too. We'll have fun being together for this time. Oh, and I wonder if they were just jealous that I got to meet President Bush.... and they are looking for their 2 seconds of fame to shake John or Sarah's hand? Hey, I'm just saying.... Maybe I should pull in some favors and give them that opportunity. You think?

Hey, look, on a serious note, I need to say something. Many of my very good friends are not in favor of McCain, even with the addition of Sarah Palin to the team. There are the things like McCain crossing the aisle just a few too many times. That's an issue for many of us, including me! It was why I opposed John McCain as being the Republican nominee for President. I mean, heck, just the thought that he wanted amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants? But there are two points that I consider to be the deal maker right now, FOR John McCain.

  1. This country can not survive if Barack Hussein Obama becomes President. Enough said.
  2. I highly doubt John McCain will serve more than one term. I'd love to see Sarah Palin in the position to run for President in 2012. While John McCain may not be the ideal President, Sarah could be in four years. And I highly doubt that McCain would want to do anything that would ruin her chances, not if he really wants the Republican Party to keep the White House four years from now.
That's my hope at this time. And I certainly believe that there is no chance for a 3rd party to win an election.... not in my life time. We have a choice to make. Voting for a 3rd party candidate, or writing in somebody for President will most likely give us an Obamanation. We can NOT allow that to happen. Not if you don't want America to become Socialist, which it's already heading for.

And finally, I have to say that if we do allow Obama to win, we may NEVER get another chance to make the right decision. It is no doubt a very difficult decision for us to make. If a McCain administration ends up being a failure, I'll just give you my address, and you can come over and slap me on the side of the head. But Obama scares me enough that I'm willing to take the risk.

Palin-Mania Overtakes the Republican Party

By T. L. Farlow

~ Guest Columnist ~

Will the RNC finally learn their lesson? How many times does it take for the Republican Party to get it through their thick skulls that Conservatism is the only game in town that can win?

Let’s back up a bit and see just what we are talking about here.

All during the last eighteen months, we have endured a complete lack of leadership, an absolute dearth of Conservative spirit in this election race. We have had to listen to the likes of the ex-Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, an elite, liberal Republican who has shown he cannot govern with Conservatism. We all cringed when we were told that the equally liberal Mayor Giuliani was being heralded as the presumptive Republican leader, but thankfully, that did not last long. We could not escape the ranting of the Rev. Huckabee, knowing that he leaned far to the left and did not have the wherewithal to battle the likes of deliriously liberal Democrats that infest Washington.

We even were told to accept the presumptive nominee John ‘Amnesty’ McCain. I for one am turned off by this man, for I have seen who he really is. I have had to endure the ultra-liberal ‘maverick’ Republican who does not care for the rule of law. He has promised to allow all the law-breaking illegal aliens the opportunity to be made automatic citizens of our country. He has promised and he has shown his penchant to go over to the enemy camp and make compromises. This crossing activity only further erodes the liberties and rights of citizens on this country.

Juan McCain, the maverick Arizona senator, has demonstrated his ability to throw away proven Conservative platforms to bring about change that will inevitably ruin our country.

It was a dark and dreary summer of hopelessness and despair that many of us tolerated, with no prospect of Conservatism reemerging. We were continually told that Conservatism was dead, never to return; not only by Democrats, but Republicans alike. Moderates and liberals abound in this day and age of government and nothing will engage the loyal Conservative base as a Reaganesque, Conservative Republican.

We were told that change and a movement towards the left, a movement towards conciliation, is what will ensure victory. We saw far too many Republicans fail in the last general election with this attitude. The liberal Democrats ran roughshod over the poorly prepared Republicans who were searching for moderation and leaning left. We are witnessing and experiencing the results of this erroneous tack, with additional liberties lost, rampant out of control spending, liberal policies gaining a stronghold and the moral fabric being shredded by the homosexual mafia, by the immensely powerful teachers unions that hammer their liberalism into the minds of the young, by the ultra-liberal judicial activism that has destroyed the rule of law and the Constitution and by the Republican bureaucratic errors in judgment that have led us to the gate of the ultimate financial destruction of our nation and perhaps the world.

Yes, we have endured, with no hope on the horizon. With lowly hearts we continued to work at our jobs each and every day, worrying about the impending tax increases that will result with another Democrat victory and one which we know we cannot bear. We, as a nation, have suffered a deficiency of Conservatism. Not since the days of Reagan, have we seen the light that shines so brightly, that effortlessly slashes through the darkness, gloominess and despair of liberalism, scattering the devilish agents of communism, Marxism and socialism back under the shadows of the rocks from whence they came.

But now, for all those who had lost heart, there appears to be a new day beginning with a brightness that brings hope to all those in desolation, to all those who anguished over the loss of the spirit of Conservatism. We now have a Mom, a ferocious hockey Mom from Alaska who is validating Conservatism as a vehicle of change, certifying that Conservatism is not dead. She has single-handedly pushed back the veil, exposing to the entire world that we can have hope again, that we can smile once more knowing that there are those who will stand and fight for us in the political arena, choosing to do the right thing, rather than that which is politically expedient. We have found someone who understands Conservatism and will not shrink from the task when confronted with overwhelming adversity.

We have seen our Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, former Mayor and former council member of Wasilla, Alaska. We have seen and heard Sarah Palin energize the long forgotten and discarded Conservative base as Vice-Presidential Candidate for the Republican Party and one who is quite capable of being President Palin, given the right circumstances. I would vote for Palin as Vice-President or even as President without thinking twice about it. What a breath of fresh air she has brought to the campaign!

Now, most of us Conservatives still have a problem. John McCain is still the same old liberal maverick he always has been. He has not changed one iota, which presents the most delicate conundrum. Do we pull the lever for Juan, Mister Amnesty, Mister crossing the aisle to the other side, Mister liberal Republican, voluntarily choosing to forget his record? Do we allow this maverick, who in and of himself could not bring this base to its feet? Do we elect John McCain just because he has chosen the most Conservative and most excellent Sarah Palin?

It was only two weeks ago that we were listening to the MSM pundits expound on the imminent choice of Joe Lieberman as his Vice-President. It was only two weeks ago that John McCain was headed into a convention that the Republicans felt as a necessary evil to put behind them, thinking perhaps next time we could field a proper candidate.

Perhaps there are those out there that can justify casting the vote for McCain, when the opposing candidate offers certain doom. I must continue to search my inner self to rationalize this action, one which goes against the very principles of Conservatism.

Is it that McCain has changed? I see no evidence of this. Has he allowed Sarah Palin to bring the base to him? Most definitely! Will the fired up base enjoy the policies that he is expected to institute? It is doubtful!

McCain has virtually suspended his normal talk of liberal policies that were his trademark. He has cloaked himself in Republicanism to find party consensus. John McCain will eventually emerge and become himself again.

In the meantime, what are we to do?

We want to pull the straight ticket lever when we enter the voting booth, but can we do that with this particular candidate? I am ‘torn between two choices’ with one Conservative Vice-Presidential candidate which will not happen unless I vote for the one cloaked Republican President as well.

My conscience will suffer greatly in the next month or so until I enter the booth and I am certain that I am not alone.

The Way Which the Pendulum Is Swinging

By John Kubicek

There seems to be no doubt anymore which way the Pendulum of Politics is swinging in these days before the Election of 2008.

Barack seems to be doing his best to be a centrist. McCain picked the most conservative running mate he could have chosen. It all seems to be now swinging more to the Right. And there is a reason why.

Upon John McCain's brilliant decision to pick Sarah Palin as his running mate, the Obama camp, mostly those far on the left, have done all they could to trash her. And, it has only worked to the detriment of Obama's campaign. As much as I can say I love the McCain pick, it has done more than anything to bring out the kind of vitriol we would expect from the far left in politics.

For example, there was the tragic exposure of a website that sickened and saddened me today, beyond belief. A new friend of mine, oldguy53 rattled my cage last night with a real pit bull of a story. And no, there was no lipstick involved. It was called, in oldguy53's digg, How Low Will Liberals Go?

You see, when I learned about this, I was saddened that anyone could ever come up with that type of vitriol. You see, my friend oldguy53 told us about blog he found that shows how LOW anyone could go, making a mockery of anybody that has some disability. And, I can tell you, there are plenty of people that are, or will be, greatly offended.

Yet, some people that say they care, don't yet seem to understand that it is their candidate that is going to be ultimately hurt by those types of attacks. You see, there are many people that would be our ultimate liberal adversaries, yet, even many of them will be offended. So, while there are those liberal jerks attacking Sarah Palin and using her family as their favorite dart board, they are the ones that will end up hurting Obama's chance for being elected as President of the United States.

Think about it. Obama seems to want to distance himself from the far leftist attacks on the Right and Sarah Palin, while John McCain surprises Conservatives with his pick of Palin for VP. I think the American people, to my amazement, are showing that they aren't so far to the left as some Democrats thought they were. I think we are discovering that it isn't so much Obama's Socialist views that people reject (sadly), but just the far left that is backing him that have gone too far. It's the extreme leftists that support Obama that is scaring off the average people clinging to their religion and guns.

Why I'd vote for John McCain has now come down to his brilliance in picking Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. The attacks on her show who the real left is. The Obama camp is running so scared, only because they are seeing that there really is still a Conservative base out here that will go all out to support the candidates under the (R) column. The problem is, the Obama camp, HIS supporters, are now showing who they are, and I beleive we should have no choice but to associate Barry with HIS supporters. While we know the kind of people Barry has hung out with, like Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers.... now we also know who Barry's biggest supporters are: People that take pleasure in making fun of disabled children? That kind of cruelty won't stand with most of us in Middle America.

And now we know something that should make a difference. Not just that Barry Obama is for any type of abortion, but also that his supporters, in many cases, would favor aborting any child that just may be disabled. That was the exact purpose of Planned Parenthood from the very beginning, just in case you didn't know.

When you go to vote this November, do us a favor. Think about the darkness of the people that are behind Barack. It isn't so much the fact that he can barely lead a community organizer effort... as if that should make a difference... but who it is that is really backing the Obamassiah.

The pendulum seems to be swinging in the Right way.

Very Important Update
There was a story that I read by Mark P. Shea on insideCatholic.com, called "How the Enemies of the Normal Are Destroying Obama". It was part of the inspiration of the story.

Bye Bye Joey

By T. L. Farlow

~ Guest Columnist ~

What is happening to Joe Biden? Is Joey readying himself for an ejection from the race?

His comments about Hillary’s qualifications to be vice-president or even president have me wondering what is going on.

With Obama journeying to Bill Clinton’s Harlem office, to “kiss the ring”, is the stage being set for Joe’s exit and Hillary’s return?

It is evident that neither Hussein nor Joey can close the sale to the American public. This Palin phenomenon has taken the Democrats by surprise and they are reeling from the affects of this choice that McAmnesty-Cain has made.

I am pleased to see that the Palin-surge is working. I am still having some difficulty in pulling the lever for Johnny McCain, and I even wish that the roles were reversed, where it was vice-presidential candidate McCain and presidential candidate Palin. That I could go for, in a heartbeat.

As we listen to Sarah talk about conservative ideals, which I dearly love to hear, we are hearing far too little from John McAmnesty. He is letting Sarah do all the talking, getting the voters all excited. What will actually happen if John does get elected? Will it be Sarah’s ideas that come to the forefront, or will John’s old liberal self re-emerge and his policies to take center stage, with amnesty legislation for tens of millions of illegal aliens?

Well, enough of the McCain problem, I need to get back onto Joey Biden’s problem. It appears that he is being set up for the fall here. Hussein Obama cannot take the blame for his own failures. Therefore, Joe will have to fall on the sword to make way for Hillary’s triumphant return.

I sincerely hope that I am wrong here, but the hard evidence is too hard to ignore.

All I can say is bye, bye Joey. Hello Hillary!

Can the 15 Seconds of Fame Live On?

By John Kubicek

Whether it is 15 seconds or 15 minutes, it seems that many of us tend to desire that short amount of time that we receive in the way of attention. And, while you think about that, let me add, is it anything that will be remembered much beyond that moment in time? I didn't think so.

But let me tell you, there are those times when 15 seconds in time WILL be remembered! Moments in history are occassionally made in a very short amount of time. This is one:

Now, there is a video that you'll see over and over. It will be part of the history of this country, when America is deciding who to elect. "Oh," you say, "how could a short 15 seconds make any difference?"

I'll answer that for you. I know that the speech of Sarah Palin at the Republican National Convention touched a lot of people, and I know that it was from a sincere heart. And, that is what is driving the left-wing drive-by media and politicians crazy. They will never get past this one little fifteen second scene. You see, this was just a natural moment, it wasn't scripted; it just happened. This, as compared to two cute little daughters standing on a stage, waving to their daddy on a big screen TV, as he mixed up where he was. First he was in St. Louis, then he suddenly transported back over to Kansas City. Remember that? Hey, I'm sure the Obamassiah was counting on his cute little daughters to deflect the stupid gaff. Right? Not for a moment. Not for 15 seconds.

What little Piper and Trig did was to remind people that their mom represents one of us in Middle-America clinging to our Bibles and guns. She's for real. The real deal. Yes, that 15 seconds of fame will live on.

On the Bridge to Nowhere?

By John Kubciek

I'll just cut right to the chase. No lead up, no tease, no fumbling around. I just want to say that no matter how good I felt after the RNC last week, I still have my doubts and fears.... about John McCain as President. What I'm really looking for right now, is beyond a reasonable doubt, John McCain would be the right choice to make. My decision remains yet to be set in concrete, despite the brilliant decision to pick Sarah Palin as his VP running mate.

And one more honest assessment of my choices that I must consider. My absolute resolution is to work to make sure that Barry and the ObamaNation does not ever occupy the White House. The worst thing ever would be an ObamaNation with Barry in the Whitehouse, and a Congress totally controlled by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. I don't think the horror of that scenario can even be imagined.

Yet, in the mean time, some of my colleagues in the New Media are just as afraid of a John McCain administration. I do not doubt for a minute that many of them have good reasoning for that opinion. In fact, for much of the time during the primaries, I agreed with much of the "discension" displayed from amongst the Conservative wings of the Republican Party and Independents. I supported Ron Paul in my Republican Party Iowa caucus early last January. I was not "energized" by any of the other candidates except for Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter. But neither of them could get anything going.

But doesn't it get confusing when one of our "Conservative" friends tell us that we must not allow Obama to be elected, but John McCain would be worse for America? Huh? Well, those are the two messages I'm getting from Joseph Farah's writings. Isn't that like saying, "Heads they win, Tails we lose"? In "A response to Janet Folger", Joseph writes:

But I absolutely, fundamentally disagree with her about voting for John McCain, a politician who has been at war with her and her values for at least the last eight years – maybe longer.

That was Joseph's response to Janet Folger's column, "Joseph Farah is wrong … dead wrong," where Janet tries to remind Farah of where the ObamaNation could move this country, especially with control of the White House and Congress, in a very short amount of time.

So, now there are really two issues that we must consider. Do we concentrate our efforts on "NObama"? Or, do we consider JSM to be just as dangerous, thus taking on the risk of having Obama by going with a third party candidate?

I was hoping after last week's RNC that those questions were answered when Sarah Palin was picked to be the VP running mate. However, after reading many blogs, comments on digg.com, columns by my favorite pundits, commentaries by my favorite talk-radio hosts, it seems that my confusion and indecision is being magnified. So, for right now, to maintain some sanity, I'll keep with my support for the McCain-Palin ticket. And I claim that it is the necessary decision to make in order to keep our worst nightmare, an ObamaNation, from winning.

Though I do still have major reservations about McCain, his pick of Sarah McCain helped. And then again, it didn't. I'm not so sure that the pick of a VP running mate really makes a difference when it comes down to the actual administration. As of right now, though, I'm hoping it does influence the McCain administration. And now, I'm finding myself out on a limb, because I'm depending a lot on Sarah Palin and what she could help us avoid: Going out on a bridge to nowhere.

If it ain't a pit bull, it is definitely a hockey mom - with lipstick!

By John Kubicek

Yep, there's no doubt, the next Civil War in America has just begun!

Fortunately, in this case, it'll be a war that will be fought out in the Presidential campaigns with the final victory taking place at the polls in November of this year. But despite that fact, this one is going to "get bloody"... only in the political sense, hopefully.

I may either become a victom, or a victor, but I'm going to be in it all the way until the end. You see, it was a little less than a month ago, I was totally undecided. Honestly, I really didn't know what I wanted, other than the fact that I wanted the Obamessiah to be defeated. Whether it was because I am afraid The One, Barry, wants a socialist society, or because he was seeming to be too much like the Antichrist, he scares me.

My prayers had tended to be asking the Lord to help us find a way to defeat the Demoncratic nominee for the prize of getting a stay in the White House for a few years. But it was looking very grim, if I may say so. Many of my Conservative Christian friends were expressing their disgust with the way things were with all of the Republican candidates over the last year. I found myself starting to look at Ron Paul as a viable Republican nominee. I even supported him back on January 3, 2008, in the Iowa Caucuses.

Then, when McCain wrapped it all up, I was looking at 3rd party possibilities, because there were many things that bothered me about this presumptive Republican candidate. Just go back and check out previous posts I've written here, and you'll see all the various ways I varied his name, such as "McLame"... I wasn't a McCain supporter as you would notice.

But then... the revelation... the epiphany. In April '08, I had discussed my "Discombobulated Dream". What did I say? Well, in my dismay of John McCain being in the lead for the Republican nomination, I was afraid that John McCain would pick a Liberal, a Demoncrat, to be his running mate. I was in total fear that he would pick a liberal, such as Hillary, to draw in her crowd, and at that time, Barry Obamanation was already looking pretty good for his party's nomination.

Thank God, I was wrong!

First, it wasn't long ago, John McCain had a great appearance at the "Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency" and there were the great accolades from the guys I consider to be on my side. I agreed. However, there were reservations, my heroes in the talk radio realm were saying, basically, "that while John McCain did well in exposing his socially Conservative side, we have to worry about him picking a Liberal as a running mate"... You know, like Lieberman or Ridge...

Oh, I was so happy, though, when I discovered this one great article just a couple days following the "Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency" and while I was worrying about John McCain picking a Liberal as a running mate. Drew Zahn at WorldNetDaily.com broke the story: Is mysterious website tipping off McCain's VP?

Alaska's Sarah Palin is a bold, first-term Republican governor, a former beauty pageant winner, a mother of five and, if a website of mysterious origin proves prophetic, she could be Sen. John McCain's choice for vice presidential running mate.

I went with that, right from the beginning. Several days before the actual announcement, I finally got that great banner graphic up on my blogs. I was really interested in what Sarah Palin could add to the McCain campaign. But, yet, I still had my doubts.

Yes, I said it. I had doubts about who John McCain really represents. When he publicly announced Sarah Palin as his running mate at the end of last week, though, I had to reconsider a few things. Was I seeing a light at the end of the tunnel? Was it possible that John McCain really is a Conservative? How was it possible that he would choose a person that could be such a hero for Conservatives if he didn't have those values himself?

Yes, I had a lot of questions, but I was feeling the electricity, the buzz of getting the right running mate, as being a brilliant decision. Of course, anyone that saw Sarah Palin's speech tonight would know already, it turns out to have been a decision that will be going down in history as a major political victory.

Now, there is the "Palin Power", and you best get over to that blog and see for yourself. You'll see for yourself that Sarah may seem to be the answer to stopping the ObamaNation. And now, you must, and you will, decide what kind of "change" you want for this country. But I'll give you one major hint: You can be on the winning side, or not. But the winning side has God on their side. And many of us should know for sure which one does or doesn't.

No, maybe the words, "Civil War" may not quite fit. Maybe it is the battle we've known was coming: it's a "Spiritual War". And I can definitely identify with the side I'm for! Are you going to be ready for that decision? I am, and I did. And, so did John McCain, and I'm NOW proud to be supporting him.

Really True Grit!

By John Kubicek

What an awesome day! I didn't sleep last night. I knew something big was coming. I started tracking video to possibly add to my youtube account, and it sure hadn't come from the Democrat National Convention in Denver. No, it seemed like there was something even bigger that would be coming up. My vibes ended up being right on. A couple of days ago, I put a banner on this blog - regarding John McCain's pick for VP. Right under the banner, I had written, "John McCain: Pick Sarah Palin!"

Okay, okay, enough with patting myself on the back for getting the pick right. I'll just say how I'm so happy about who McCain actually picked the right person, and he'll actually get my vote. I got this video shortly before the news was confirmed by Fox News. Sorry, it may seem like old news now..... the news comes quickly these days. But this was the moment when my hopes were looking really good this morning! This has been fun, despite no sleep!

We need to know, that by picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made it clear, he has the TRUE GRIT we need as a President. She's Pro-Life, and she's tough. She could easily take the job as President if needed, God forbid. John McCain made the right choice!

The Discombobulated Dream Team

I am sorry, but it's all Bill Kristol's fault that this is being brought up one last time. This cut is from FoxNews Sunday with Chris Wallace on Sunday, August 24, 2008:

Unfortunately, we can still say that the Discombobulated Dream of John McCain picking Hillary Clinton as his VP running mate remains to be a viable possibility. While it may still get laughs as it sounds like a joke, there still could be a remote way that it could happen, right? How?

As we all know by now, Barry Obama has picked his running mate. It will be Senator Joe Biden, (D-Delaware). That means, of course, it won't be Hillary Clinton. The fact is, Hillary wasn't even contacted by the Obama campaign. Meanwhile, many of her supporters are furious that not only did Hillary not win the nomination, but now she's snubbed from the being on the ticket. Supposedly, Hillary's people have been told to set up a team of "whips" to make sure that her supporters do not get out of line at the DNC (Democrat National Convention).

Meanwhile, over at the McCain camp, they are still trying to decide who to pick for McCain's Veep. (I'll concede that they may have already chosen somebody, but are just keeping it quiet until just before the RNC. For this column, though, we'll assume the choice hasn't been locked down yet.) McCain has to make a choice. Will it be somebody that is Conservative to draw the Conservative Republican base back, or will it be a more socially liberal person to draw more Independents and disgruntled Hillary-supportering Democrats?

The "Civil Forum on the Presidency" at Rick Warren's Saddleback Churh brought on much discussion about McCain's choice for VP, for the reason that it "appeared" that McCain had made a good effort to win back the Conservative base of the Republican Party. A week ago, on Monday, August 18, Rush Limbaugh discussed how John McCain had performed so well, and Obama didn't, "the Dems and Drive-Bys were reduced to accusing him of cheating." In the email synopsis of the show I received, "Rush In a Hurry - August 18, 2008," there was this great statement by Rush:

Pearl of Wisdom: "If McCain doesn't do something stupid, like name a liberal running mate, he should be able to hold on. Obama's campaign is falling apart."

But the question really remains, which side does John McCain want to sway? Despite his "great performance" at Saddleback, who is the real McCain? Isn't he the one that has crossed the aisle on numerous occassions? Who are some of the Democrat Senators that he's worked with? Well, let me see... Feingold and Kennedy, and even Joe Lieberman, though he isn't technically a Democrat any more.

But tell me this isn't an even larger "coincidence":

Am I just misreading it all? Am I the only one here that is seeing the strong desire to show the McCain presidency as a bi-partisan effort? Even if it isn't literally the Hildebeast that becomes John McCain's VP choice, would he so blatantly disavow the right-wing base of the GOP in order to get those "in the center", those that would have voted for Hillary if she had won the nomination?

But, here is a factor that McCain has to consider: What will happen if he does pick somebody very liberal as his running mate, and that will be the loss of any support he would have from Conservative talk radio. However, in a way, McCain can STILL depend on Conservative talk radio, along with the New Media commentators and blogs, that will disparage Obama to such a degree, that it would still get votes for McCain. Oh, great, count on getting elected just out of the fear of the other candidate? This leads us up to the next point, and that is what this all means from the viewpoint of the Conservative voters.

We have to face it, we're really in a pickle, aren't we (Conservatives)? With a quick glance at the candidates, many of us would probably think of Obama as being the greater of two evils. But wait, would that view change if McCain picks a Veep that is considered as a Liberal, even if Republican? You know, like Tom Ridge or even Rudy Guilliani? Should that be the case, there will be a stampede "to the exits" from the Republican party by the Conservative wing. McCain would be gambling that the loss of that base would be made up by the attraction of the former Hillary supporters.

I don't have a solution for the way out of this pickle. I can't do anything to help on my own. It's time to organize the The Discombobulated Dream Team to rescue us from this nightmare. While the "Showdown at Saddlesore" tried to show McCain as a Conservative, we really will not know exactly where he stands until he announces the other half of the ticket. The Discombobulated Dream Team must now do our best to influence McCain not to abandon us. Hopefully, there will be enough us to write on our blogs to influence the talk radio hosts to influence the New Media to influence the McCain campaign to make the right choice. We need to let the Republican Party know that moving to the left, any more than the RINOs have already done, is not acceptable.

I hope and pray, that while trying to attract female voters, that McCain doesn't go to the dark side. No, John, don't pick Hillary or any other liberal. If you want a good female running mate, which I have no problem with, go with Sarah Palin. McCain, salvage the Conservative base or throw us under the bus. It's your choice!
